I just saw the previews.... what a stupid, ludicrous film.
I like some action and some T&A is always nice....but how about some sign of intelligent life?

And i like vin diesel he was good in pitch black and the fast and the furious.. and although he had a small part in saving private ryan he was good in that too. | |

i will openly admit that the reason i went to see this movie was because of the actress asia argento. i figured that she would atleast have some characterization and some lines. there was and she did. but i will tell you that the majority of the women in this movie fare no better than if they were in a Jay-Z music video. y'know......."big pimpin'" etc.......but anyway, where was i? oh! the movie.
the government, played by samuel L. jackson (why sam? WHY?!), has a problem. their james bond type agents keep getting killed off. they decide to go from men in tuxes to guys with tatts. see.....they need a wild card. someone who plays by their own rules. so in steps vin diesel's character. to the EXTREME!
ah, vinny. its early so my opinion may change, but so far i find vin to be a lump of an actor. he just does nothing for me. nor for this movie. his character doesnt propel any of the action. he is just a cog in this thing. hes just....there.
this movie is dull. bland. witless. there is no personality to this movie. no point of view. nothing to distinguish it from anything else thats out there. the action scenes are so so. but they dont build toward anything. no momentum. they are filler. then the filler is like even MORE filler on top of that.
and the actor playing the lead villian was laughable. i could tell he wasnt on a diet. he was chewing on too much scenery to be going hungry.
i will give credit where credit is due. the stunt personnel do an admirable job with what they have to work with. so there is the one saving grace. but it is not nearly enough.
i dripped no adrenalin. my pulse rate didnt climb or even go out for a quick stroll. and the edge of my seat was vacant.
i hear tell that this hear movie is supposed to be one of them thar "popcorn flicks". thats all well and good. i dont mind a goof off film every now and again. but is it too much to expect SOME kind of effort on the part of the filmmakers? with this movie it apparently was.

I agree with Six's opinion there...but now I've heard that its actually not that bad...I don't know. I don't plan on seeing it unless I hear something amazing about it. As it is, no way.

I have to agree...This movie was not worth the money. It might be worth to rent. But I was going to the theatre expecting a decent movie and it didn't happen.

He was a bouncer before becoming discovered by Speilberg for the part he played in Saving Private Ryan. He was perfect for the "big muscular" dude in Pitch Black and when someone seems to hit it big with the masses....Producers scramble cause they wanna make money. Apparently, even though I hated it, the Fast and the Furious was better than I thought as far as box office sales...this is basically....Fast and the Furious part deux...but not really.
I LOVE the review Tenty...and...Evil Cheese Fry...if you liked it...TELL US WHY!..give us your reasons for liking it....
