tim burton is one of the greatest artist/directors of our time. he can do anything from full animations, like nightmare before christmas, to making absolutely imaginative stories, like edward scissorhands. which are your favorites by him? have you seen stainboy? He's my fave; good call. I hate to say it, but I really do dig what he did with Sleepy Hollow; I thought it was a little cheesy, but good. I also enjoy the first Batman immensely, as well as Edward Scissorhands and Nitemare.

no, i haven't seen vincent. i'll have to rent that...
sleepy hollow was a bit cheesy, but you could just tell that it had too much influence from the production company. i don't think that you can really blame that on burton though.
i'd have to say my favorites are edward scissor hands and batman returns. ed wood was bad. i didn't like that film too much, it had some scenes that made me laugh, but over all it just bored me.
i'm really waiting for the release of planet of the apes. i've never seen the original, so i'm leaving my first impression up to burton's interpretation and then i'll watch the original. i'm surprised that he doesn't have johnny depp some where in the movie though... mmm, not really (in my opinion anyway)...
the situations are different, but both had both serious veins and seriously goofy veins... is the goofiness in a retro tone that makes a movie campy... ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

It doesn't matter what Tim Burton does. Even if it's a bad movie, it's still pretty good becouase Tim Burton directed it.

Yes, i agree Tim Burton is by far the best director. I love Nightmare Before Christmas, and Edward Scissor Hands. Didn't he also direct Pe-Wee's Big Adventure? "Look around you. Check out
"The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Short Stories"
For those who are not familiar with the book, its a collection of Tim Burton's poetry addressed with all very familair Burton-esque illustrations.
Its done quite beautifully I think... Very dark yet childishly innocent at the same time, is the best that I can describe it Our culture aquires a love design. Left naked with nothing but ourselves and contempt for what we are not supposed to be, not supposed to feel, not supposed to see. I will embrace you... We are all beautiful

i know i am being incredible picky here......and i know NIGHTMARE was tim's idea, but lets give credit where credit is due...Henry Selick directed NBXMAS. he also did JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH another good flicker. and his stop motion short films are nice and surreal too...anyone see his SLOW BOB IN THE LOWER DIMENSIONS short film? twisted. sorry. i needed to pick that particular nit.
