must say i was frankly a little dissapointed. it had some good funny bits, and ran quite well, but i was left a little.... yeah. probably the kind of film to watch when high or drunk.

twas a good watch, don't regret seeing it, but i think its kinda a... sunday evening sky box office watch before you go to sleep film.

starts off very well, loses it a little bit around the "training" then picks up, and then slows down a tiny bit, but comes to a good ending. sadly it does end quite abruptly, and i did feel some scenes in the film were cut short. most probably for time, which is sad.

alot of the funniest bits are in the trailer. just, didn't seem in some places that the acting was up to scratch and scenes didnt flow too well. probably as i said, from them being cut short.

music was pretty good though. not brilliant, and certainly not as good as the last album. don't think i'll bother buying the cd. its a flowing musical movie soundtrack really, the songs being story.

i'd give it, 3 and a quarter out of 5.

that was pretty much a given. tenacious d is great when you get them at 3 or 4 minutes at a time, but a feature film is just bound to suck ass. it falls in line with all of the saturday night live skits that they've tried to turn into feature films. they all suck.

jack black is a funny guy, i'd even venture to say he's a talented actor, but you can only take slap stick in small increments... well unless you're cheech & chong. those seem to be the only guys that could (back in the day) make you laugh for over an hour at sub par drug jokes.

Most of their stuff was thieved from poor old Norman Wisdom too. To be funny these days is to find a whole bunch of stuff you think no-one has heard of and rework it.
Jack Black is good at pulling faces and giving shit to other famous snots. Thats about it. I don't find him talented at all.

JB has something that its hard to find in modern comedy, that being Charisma. The dude is hard to dislike. I enjoyed the D movie quite a bit, but then again I've been a D fan since 1997 and they could probably make a movie of KG farting on a snare drum and I'd like it, so my opinion is biased.
