I'd go with Interview With the Vampire... largely because I like Anne Rice books... I haven't seen too many vampire movies though--any recommendations?

Shadow of the Vampire: can't comment on it because I'm too lazy to rent it yet.
Lost Boys: except for misplacing the fangs, a cool flick.
Interview With the Vampire: probably my current fav; well-worked conceptually, telling it from the other point of view; that and I really like the Anne Rice versions.
I'm still waiting for one that tops the original 1921 silent Nosferatu.

there is a somewhat different vampire flick out there for anyone who is interested. its called THE ADDICTION. sorry but i cannot recall the lead actresses name at the moment...but Christopher Walken has a bit part in it. its shot in black and white..but is told in modern day. it isnt the typical gothic cliche' type of thing either. its a bit of a different take on the vampire mythos. the characters tend to talk about philosophy a great deal......because the lead character takes philosophy courses or some such thing. sorry. its been a while since i have watched it. but if you dont want typical vampiric stuff...then i reccomend this film.

oh yes. and a movie called THE HUNGER. with david bowie and susan sarandon. this isnt a typical vampy flicky either. i dont think the word vampire is even used in the film. be warned..it is a slow movie...not huge amounts of action. its more atmospheric..and beautifully shot. hehehe... and it has BAUHAUS performing BELA LUGOSI'S DEAD right in the beginning. ;}

I dunno why I liked Salem's Lot, but I did.

interview with the vampire~ i love ann rice books even though they changed a few things around this was a great film .....my fave vamp flick ...keep your eyes open for queen of the dammed cos thats one follow up i wanna see

Bram Stroker`s Dracula or Blade.

I found Innocent Blood very interesting, kind of a pre Kindred movie. Wes Cravens Vampires I enjoyed because of the happy ending.

My favourite movie at the moment has to be 'The Little Vampire'.

If my kids grows up to look like that, I'd die happy. Though I'm not too sure if they will...
