It's coming out today, and I haven't seen it, yet.

i've got tickets to go see it tomorrow night.

have made a point only to watch trailers, and not read any spoilers.

ive seen there's like, 3 "bad guys" in it, venom, sandman, green goblin. or 4 if you include when peter gets taken over by venom.

im lookin forward to it.

Just saw it. It wasnt as good as the 1st 2. and... for christs sake Topher Grace? FUCK!

He gets taken over by the Symbiot, not Venom.

sorry my bad, i know the symbiote is what creates venom out of lil mr brock after takin over parker earlier.

i thought topher did great. overall, i was satisfied. the only thing that took away for me was the danny elfman didn't do the music. seems him and raimi never worked it out.

Elfman DID do the music. You couldnt tell? It even said his name in the beggining.

And Topher did piss poor. Every character he ever plays is Eric from That 70's Show. Now Venom is Eric from That 70s show.

Elfman DID NOT do the music. He only did the music for the first two . . . but, obviously the "Spidey Theme" and all that jazz is still Elfman's material (hence the: Spider-Man Theme [or whatecer] by Danny Elfman at the beginning), but all original music was done by Christopher Young . . . and it clearly states that in the opening credits.

Anywho, I was highly impressed with this movie. I'm not a Spider-Man fan (as in the comics) but I do enjoy the movies. And with the load of comic crap they've been spewing forth lately, the Spider-Man franchise is at the top. Each end on a "sequel-or-not" note, which is perfect. But this one in particular . . . all the characters (Sandman, New Goblin, Venom) and the plot, everything really, I definately enjoyed it. I was glad my girlfriend suggested it.

you're kidding, right? spidey 3 was fucking T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. it was campy, cheese dick, and every other hollywood cliche crammed into 140 minutes. i literally almost threw my drink at the screen while the whole jazz/emo city street walk scene was going on.

i was so over the film that i walked out of the theater before the final battle and waited for the movie to end. absolutely fucking terrible.

Y'know, this movie is gettin' a lot of mixed reviews. I've talked to people at work about it, with friends, and no one can really seem to agree. Some think it's one of the best super-hero movies ever made, some think it's just another action flick, and some really fuckin' hate it. I don't know . . . but, my girlfriend and I both really liked it. And I didn't really care for the first two (I mean, they're alright), but this I ranked up there with Batman Begins. So . . . whatever.

We just saw this last night. It wouldn't really have been my first choice for a film, but I was glad I saw it. It was pretty okay. I got into it even though I really don't even recall seeing the second one. I liked the last part more than the beginning of the movie. I didn't think Topher did a horrible job on his role, but I can definitely see what you guys mean about that Eric Foreman thing creeping in now and then.

Wow, so you love terrible movies and dont know a good one from a bad one. Ok.

ok, i saw it again and realize that, overall, it's not my favorite movie, i just enjoy a lot of scenes. mainly the harry/peter fight in the mansion.

You've got to be kidding, Batman Begins had real actors. I liked Spiderman 3, but it wasn't as good as Spiderman 2, and certainly wasn't anywhere near Batman Begins.

spiderman 3 was a good action movie. its a collection of good fighting scenes and action scenes, with a plot flowing around through it. kinda.

though some scenes were a bit stupid and not needed at all.

like the dancing scene and the "saturday night fever" walk. the only thing that can be said about that is "why?"

they just prolonged the film and made me sit there and think "when is the symbiote gonna ditch parker and leech onto brock?" "when's venom coming?"

of course the bruce campbell scene was brilliant. he looked younger than he did in evil dead 2.

anyway. the film did one good thing, which is to show that sometimes it's not just about "that one hero guy" vs "that one bad dude" and that sometimes, shit happens at the same time. each bad dude has their own story, and sometimes, the actions of the good guy, can make him realise, why the "baddie" is doing the thing. unfortunately, spiderman 3 just came across as a film where a board of producers sat at a table with sam and it went like this -

as if the 3 guys from ORANGE actually got a movie made their way. but no mobile phones.

and it was made.

sadly, it doesn't have the same kind of moulding and interplay that the comics were able to do. showing what's going on here, then there, and "meanwhile, on the other side of gotham..." you can't do that all amazingly well in a film, cutting and pasting and moving around timelines, well... sometimes... but not without cheesy lucas-esque screen wipes. urgh.

all in all, i liked it. it was worth seeing, but its not the best and not raimi's best work.

i'll see it again, perhaps i'll be able to concentrate on the story progression more than just the action sequences and see how the film comes together a bit better.

but i won't be surprised if i come back with a changed opinion of "oh. wait, that film did actually suck other than the fights. oh well."

It was a Raimi throwback..... Raimi has always been a campy director and film-maker... it is part of his roots.... it always shows in ALL of his movies.... it just tended to show a bit more in S-3. They could have thrown out about 20-25 minutes of the film and been all good. The part where he goes all fucking EMO was about as campy as we have seen Raimi get since E.D. 3.

It's like I told my buddy at work . . . since everyone seems to hate it so much, it'll come to DVD quicker . . . which is good for me, since I definately plan on buying it.
