The most NUT-SUCKING film I've seen in years. I'd rather give a rimjob to a man with poor bowel control than watch it again.

dammit.
i liked it. the only problem with that statement is...is that i wanted to love it. but i cant bring myself to say that. i had a big smile on my face through much of the film but there were times where i "inner-winced" at what i was seeing. hit and miss is the right term for this film.
tobey maguire was very good. i had faith in him from the start and he delivered. kirsten dunst was fine for the most part. some of her delivery seemed a bit stilted. hm. willem dafoe. i was expecting to be blown away by him. i wasnt. i like him as an actor but while doing his green goblin thing it came off as hammy to me. i didnt get a feeling of menace off of him. j.k. simmons as j. jonah jameson was very funny. just the right amount of blow hard and bluster.
the FX were a mixed bag. great at times. but clunky and not polished enough at some points.
portions of the action scenes were good. but i wasnt on the edge of my seat. especially during the new york parade sequence. it wasnt connecting with me. the climactic fight was good. it was fairly brutal at times which i thought it should be. when dealing with characters that have this much power their brawls should HURT! spidey's and gobby's rooftop "chat" was just goofy to me for some reason. the city swinging shots were good. my stomach churned a couple of times during those. peter's discovering of his powers was exhilirating.
danny elfman's score was generic and forgettable. i would have liked for him to have made a memorable main theme.
eh. i dont want to nit pick anymore. all this being said i would probably go see it again. i also have no problem with them making a sequel and i look forward to what they might do.
in my estimation...the original SUPERMAN film is still the best superhero movie adaptation. although i may be biased seeing as how i am big supes fan. ;}
the HULK teaser trailer received a nice response from the audience at the show i went to. *sigh* its only a year away..... "The great thing about being ignored is that you can speak the truth with impunity."

As spiderman isn't going to be out here for bloody ages i have no comment on what its like but i have no intention of seeing it.
From the shots i've seen it looks very poor and i think they should leave comics alone, paper yes, silver screen NO!
Superman, Judge Dredd great comics bad movies.

I liked the movie.. It was very entertaining.. especially the fight/action scenes.. the ending was BLEAH.. with Mary jane totally messing up her acting..
Its really cool when spideys like swinging around the whole place..
over all it was very good.. could have been better.. but I was really glad that I saw this movie.. Possibly the best super hero movie ever made.

IT WAS GREAT!!!!
Did anyone notice the special appearance by the man himself, STAN LEE!!!!
It was during Spiderman's and the Green Goblin's first fight on that celebration of some sort
I usually don't like seeing movies more than once, but I LOVED the movie and I would definately see it again!!!!
I liked all of the movie so I can't pick a scene in particular....It was very exciting to see Spider-Man in his early custom swinging for his first time to catch his Uncle's murderer....And that Bridge scene was realyl nice!!!! And that last battle, OUCH!!!! That was so kool when the Green Goblin threw a pumpkin bomb and it blew up in front of Spider-Man, tearing up his custome . That last scene was and "ouch, damn!!" type of fight scene Quote: | Originally posted by gArGOyLe^^ |
Its really cool when spideys like swinging around the whole place.. FUCK YEAH!!!! over all it was very good.. could have been better.. but I was really glad that I saw this movie.. Possibly the best super hero movie ever made. Heh, maybe it could have been better, but I am satisfied with what I saw. It was really colorfull and bright, and it wasn't immature even thought there wasn't any hardcore violence with blood (such as the Scorpion King). I agree that is is possibly the best Super Hero Movie ever!!! Forget Superman and He-Man :p Quote: | Originally posted by lovecraftian~tentacle |
the FX were a mixed bag. great at times. but clunky and not polished enough at some points. Yeah at some very few points, but it was done really well anyway
portions of the action scenes were good. but i wasnt on the edge of my seat. especially during the new york parade sequence. it wasnt connecting with me. the climactic fight was good. it was fairly brutal at times which i thought it should be. when dealing with characters that have this much power their brawls should HURT! spidey's and gobby's rooftop "chat" was just goofy to me for some reason. Well it's your freindyl Nieghborhood-Spider-Man , things can't get TOO bloody . As for the climatic fight, I agree with you on that one And the rooftop "chat" where the Green Goblin offered Spidey to join him was meant to be goofy. How the Green Goblin smacked Spidey on the head was funny, the audienced giggled
the HULK teaser trailer received a nice response from the audience at the show i went to. *sigh* its only a year away..... Yeah, the audience started talking after the HULK teaser trailer.....I don't think it will be as good as Spider-Man....HULK get Angry, HULK jump really tall building and SMASH SMASH SMASH!!!! .....c'mon..... :p lol To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Awesome movie. I loved it. Despite the fact that the film messed up TWICE,but that faulter was on the theaters part, and yea, for those who are wondering, i did get reimbursed one "emergency ticket" for my "troubles". The swinging scenes were kickass awesomest, cool. the fight scenes were different, and I liked that. Especially the scene where spidey had to make a choice who to save, that was new. the costume was awesome, the jokes, and puns were a tad better than other superhero movies. the actors were okay,i thought that mary jane was fast forwarding it a ittle bit at the end,but its cool, seeing is how they have to compact it into a movie, whereas in comics, you got all the time in the freakin world. the costumes were awesome, the effects were a little too CGI, but thats only the parade floats part.Tobey maguire was good for his role, and i think it was cool.heh...the web shooters still worked out,also.and..and..yeah...

but i think you have to be careful about any "goofy". in these types of films in particular. they are inherently goofy, and unless you want to take them over the edge in that way you have to tread a fine line because it is TOO easy to go overboard. examples: the last two SUPERMAN films. some of BATMAN FOREVER and all of BATMAN AND ROBIN. if i want campy i will just watch the BATMAN tv show because it was meant to be that way. and i can accept that. but in the case of SPIDER-MAN they were trying for atleast some type of..heh.."serious" adaptation. as serious as one can get with material like this anyway. ;} "The great thing about being ignored is that you can speak the truth with impunity."

This better than Blade thens? Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

i think it was mainly ment for children but it was also something life long fans could watch as well. but the cinimetography was pretty nice and toby was welll, he was toby. i think mary jane should have been played by clair danes instead though.

bleah. no way, man. it was a **n movie, but by no means a good movie. I was so disappointed that I almost cried. Toby S***S, and the beginning/ending monologues made me want to cringe. Decent action, but it looked too computer animated; I didn't buy any of it. Blah. Spiderman's my favorite superhero, dammit... they shoulda let Bruce Campbell play him

i just watched it last night and thought that it was pretty good, minus the fact that you can see the boom mic in several scenes... that was just shit. it was a little over generated with cg, but it kind of needed to be in order to give it that comic feel. all in all i'd recommend it. ArSiNiK, did you download that movie?
Anyways, I've chosen not to see this movie, I like my comic-book spiderman. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
But let's not forget, there's at least one movie which did the comic justice: The first Batman. Attack one of the underground... Proud supporter of banning NMaries.
