Finally rented the DVD a couple of weeks ago. Watched it twice all the way through. Kick ass.

Firefly is officially hereby bumped up to #2 on my list of favorite sci-fi shows...right behind Farscape.

ive found the firefly boxset in my local HMV and i'm going to go in and buy it same day as i buy serenity. spend a whole couple of days watching through firefly then serenity.
i just need to get paid first so i know my budget for the month.

There's only 11 episodes. Real dedication can have the whole thing knocked out in less than a day. I blew threw Farscape. 4 seasons + The Peacekeeper Wars in a week.

Allow me to lessen your love for me by saying that I haven't been terribly thrilled with the new BG and only watch it occasionally. Honestly, I'd rather watch the original series. At least then I may not have any better acting or special effects, but at least I've got nostalgia, and that's something...oh, and a chimp in a robot dog costume.

Yeah, my girlfriend cried when they killed Wash. I got slapped when I giggled, but hey, it wasn't a "that's funny" giggle, it was a tension-release giggle...

Sci-fi just had another Firefly marathon last week, so I've got all 11 episodes recorded on DVR. I just have to record them to tape now so I can share with all my cable-deprived friends that haven't seen them yet.

i wanna watch the series at least twice before i watch serenity. plus on my days off, i spend half the day in bed because i tend to stay out/up til about 4 am on a long night out before.

Yep. Same here. Just out of nowhere *BAM*. Dead. At least there was a sentimental drama moment when they killed off the shepherd. Not so with old Wash. Nope. He's dead. Mooooooooving on to the Reavers.

I saw the movie before I saw the tv series, so I wasn't au fait with who was important in the cast, who was in the tv series and so on. So when Wash was killed it didn't seem like such a huge deal at the time. Now that I've seen the tv series I've obviously realised that he was a major character in the story, and the way he was offed with little or no ceremony seems a bit strange; particularly if Serenity goes on to become a franchise rather than a one-off movie.
