Anyone know anything about "The Queen of the Damned" movie? All I know about it is that Billy Corgan and Jonathan Davis are doing the music.

Hmm, we'll see. I remember hearing they were going to make a movie out of it and I thought 'how else would the figrue to waste they're money', but you never know. They may have altered it. I think Lestat would have made a better movie.

It's the unofficial QOTD movie site, with links to just about everything. Except for Marius being played by Vincent Perez (Crow: City of Angels), and Akasha (I forget who), the rest of the cast is pretty much no-names. Looks like it may be sucky (no pun intended). Lestat looks nothing like Lestat. Since they're skipping the second book and filming straight into the third, I wonder how much more backstory will be sacrificed?

Well damn..no tom cruse as lestat? Thats gonna suck ass. I personally cant stand cruse, but he was a good lestat. What ever happend to The vampire lestat movie? I heard once that they were thinking of creating it. Whatever..

Seems to me like going straight from Star Wars to Return Of The Jedi, skipping The Empire Strikes Back. But these Hollywood types never consult the most obvious group that they should: the ticket-buyers. *sighs*

Aaliyah said that "Queen of The Dammed" won't be coming out till Summer-Fall of 2002!!!! Now that just SUCKS!!!! I heard that it was being released in October-November....that just sucks, sucks, sucks, Sucks!!!! It better be Good if not Better than the First Movie

There is a thread in the Bloodlust forum in which this upcoming movie had been discussed. I believe the title of it is "Armand is my favorite" or something to that effect. But to summarize what I've found out so far:

The movie is called "Queen of the Damned" but it actually encompasses the latter part of Lestat's book (the modern times after he rises and joins the band) through QotD.

New guy playing Lestat...some pop princess playing Akasha that has only done one other film...Armand actually looks like Armand this time around...the guy they have playing Talbot isn't nearly as old as he should be...Anne Rice does not have any active part in the making of this movie...

Summary: Probability of Suckfest is high.
