Absolutely everyone needs to see this documentary.
It's no secret that Fox News is biased. It's obvious to anyone with a shred of intellect that it's a predominantly right-wing conservative Republican television station. There's nothing wrong with conservatives. I even share some of their views. But shouldn't a station whose slogan is "fair and balanced" be just that?
So that's what the documentary is about. It breaks down everything into statistics.
How many contributors are Republican vs. Democrat. The amount of coverage on various issues in comparison to others.
And there was a nice little tribute to Bill O'Reilly and his tendency to tell guests to "shut up". ( I have a personal vendetta against Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity)
It really makes you think.. how much of our news is accurate? How much of it is really newsworthy? Are we being lied to by others?
ALl news stations have thier bias, PBS, NBC, CNN lean left. Or the NY Times.
I know. That's the problem. But Fox is way more.. obvious about it. Yet somehow underhanded at the same time. At least Air America freely admits they're liberal media. Why can't Fox News just change their slogan to "conservative news reporting" or some shit.

Because it would turn off the angry moderates they pull in and turn into conservatives. Its also in a much bigger league than Air America which is mostly just a joke now, so the stakes are bigger. I dunno ask Rupert Murdoch...
I don't really think there's any news stations out there which doesn't have bias one way or the other. Even the BBC these days, an institution which holds a reputation for being the most impartial news agency in the world, reports things only as Tony Blair and his spin doctors see fit.
Unfortunately this means that in order to find out the real truth behind any story, you haev to read half-a-dozen reports and try and find the common ground in all of them. Something which very few people are willing to take the time and effort to do.
That's what I do. I flip between MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News on tv. It's funny to see which ones report what.
But I get the majority of my news online. BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera. And then I compare.
What cracks me up about the BBC news is that they never say "man killed in shootout". It always says "man shot dead". Everyone is always "shot dead". Hilarious.
Well yeah, but the term "man killed in shootout" doesn't really tell the whole story. He could have been in the shootout and had a stroke or something like that - it doesn't say what actually killed him.
