From the creator of Buffy and Firefly (Serenity) comes a new show called Doll House.

I don't know why the hell he went with Fox again. It'll just get cancelled after three weeks or something. Description from Fox,

"Echo (Eliza Dushku) [is] a young woman who is literally everybody's fantasy. She is one of a group of men and women who can be imprinted with personality packages, including memories, skills, language—even muscle memory—for different assignments. The assignments can be romantic, adventurous, outlandish, uplifting, sexual and/or very illegal. When not imprinted with a personality package, Echo and the others are basically mind-wiped, living like children in a futuristic dorm/lab dubbed the Dollhouse, with no memory of their assignments—or of much else. The show revolves around the childlike Echo's burgeoning self-awareness, and her desire to know who she was before, a desire that begins to seep into her various imprinted personalities and puts her in danger both in the field and in the closely monitored confines of the Dollhouse."

I remember that theme from somewhere. The mindwiped agents theme. I just cannot remember where. That sucks because I would expect something more original from Whedon.

It is from a sci-fi novel I read. Fuck me if I cannot remember which one, and my collection is stored away in preparation for moving. But the agents were mindwiped after every mission. One of them was able to keep small slices of repressed memory and slowly came to realize how they were being used and started seeking a way to escape.
Goddamit. Not only did he go back to fox but he stole an idea for his show. This saddens me, especially after how original Firefly was.

I had heard that too. But I also heard he had been interrupted to make another show. This must be it and I am unimpressed. I expect more from Whedon. The show sounds lame and rehashed.
He should just start making Firefly episodes and put them up on the internet with a small charge to download it and circumvent all the networks

Or he should just make Serenity 2 and bank on movies. The guy has good ideas generally, which is why I am disappointed with this new show. And FOX for fucks sake. Have they not killed at least 3 of his shows??

Did anyone pick up the collector's edition of Serenity? It had a shit ton more bonus features and some nice interviews with Joss. He seems like a cool guy. And to my dying day, Firefly will remain my favorite tv show and Serenity my favorite movie.
