maybe you dont know that much masters of teh universe lore....but originally King Hiss and his snake men ruled eternia long before skeletor showed up, and all teh snake men were eventually overthrown and sealed inside their domain - snake mountain (yep the one skeletor sits in). in the eighties, king hiss was eventually freed with some of his genrals....but his army remaind trapped.
now heman is made in 2004..and it's alot darker like the original comics before brucetimm got them. finally the episodes that have been leading up to the threat of the snake men (very atmospheric....) have culminated in RISE OF THE SNAKE MEN, and you carnt help but get a tingle of dread. he man has really been put through the ringer battleing skeletor...dropping mountains on him, and then being knocked across the continent..hell the last episode he did a killbill on top of a knocked out giants head, alone, against every villian introduced so far. but the RISE OF THE SNAKE MEN opend with a man, a brother of a long hidden warrior being devoured head first by king hiss in his triple snake form. the hero, pinned by the villians can only watch, while teh shadow on teh wall shows the brother, carried to hiss and stuffed head first into hiss fanged mouth and eaten....at 8:25 in the morning.
the rest of teh episode, after heman is changed to deal with teh new snake threat (actually a well desinged new look i was impressed with..never before seen), he tries to reason with skeletor by dropping a cliff on him, skeletor replies likewise untill heman is defeated and most withdraw with teh other masters.
skeletor has won....but within, hiss has risen...and unlike in the eightys..ALL his forces are free. the turn skeletors forces to stone...tipping merman over into a million shards..and skeletor, impressively and proudly refuseing to kneel, dragged and bound to teh floor by snake mountain itself under hiss's command, untill hiss has the mountain devour skeletor....and thats just part one...blumming heck, eating that guy at teh start was shocking enough.
then the follow up - Masters of teh Universe VS The SnakeMen, just smashing
i still dont like the suggestive pouch on hemans furry undies tho lol

well, first of all, i think that the creators of this sagaof He-Man did a excellent job in bringing him back to the small screen. Theres much more to go on with the mythology of eternia, than there ever was for the new adventures of He-Man back in 1990,where He-Man goes to space.Comparing the new series, with the first series,is so weird though.I guess its the evolving of children's personalities. I Like this series, even though I have not watched every episode. The action figures, Ive seen,my brothers also have them. The older ones are way better, these toys have a thousand gadgets on He-Man,all this armor, and maybe even sometimes propellars on his head or something. I mean, damn, you gotta play with the toy sometime, and with all that shit on it? Anyway,The snake Men saga is pretty cool.
well when mattel wanted to ressurect MOTU they went to the guy who created teh He-Man bible originally.....thye asked him to create an all new mythos and bible based on the original and he did a pretty good job.
the figure line has now been cancelled however

According to the original story, Keldor, King Randor's long lost brother, accidentally traveled through time to the first rule of the Snake Men while experimenting with magick. He aligned himself with King Hiss and overthrew him. When Hiss' generals learned of Keldor's treachery they tortured him by burning off his face with snake venom. This is how he came to be known as Skeletor. He escaped the Snake men and joined up with the Evil Horde and tried attempt the same thing with Hordak. In return Hordak banished him to Eternia. Now that the new episodes are out I want to see Skeletor get even with King Hiss then I want hordak to be freed so that he and Skeletor can go at it.

The warrior that's watching his brother being eaten is Zodac. In retaliation Zodac seals the Snake Men up in a timeless dimension, the entrance of which is guarded by Serepos the Snake God.

I have the Orko figure on my computer Desk.It suckes to hear that he-Man is doing bad at sales once again.maybe we can count on a revamp in another decade or so?It can be live action, one hour long, and on the WB evenings. This time,He-Man is a highschool student, struggling to come to terms with his power.
I want to know,if the creators are ever going to bring back eldor, and He-Ro,two characters from the late 80s line of toys that never made it to shelves.Called, the power of greyskull series,I think. It was set in prehistoric eternia,so all the toys were dino's or something.
well you can check out heman.org...but it's pretty lame.
thanxx for that info D, tho i knew teh second post because that was teh ep i was talking about. it was a great point that Teal'C from stargate SG1 was the voice of zordak.
i dont belive they are walking those lines with skeletor and king hiss this time, just two tyrants.
im still undecided about hemans new snakefighting armour.....it's a little too gladatorial for my liking..but it does have a great feel for building up teh tention of the snakemen
