no, it wasn't as tight as Fiction or Dogs... but, for what it was, it was marvelous. and it's rather difficult to explain what it was/is without giving anything away. that could just be an excuse for "I have nothing profound to say", but take it as you will.
There are predictable spots, this is true... but the inherent unpredictability of Bill and his crew (The Bride included) keeps you pretty much on edge for the entire movie (which clocks at around 2:15 or 2:20... i dunno, the previews were hard to judge and i didn't have my watch on going in).
you feel for bud... then again, you hate him...
you ALMOST feel for Elle... and laugh.
it was especially difficult to hate bill... but, then again, the devil was always a smooth talker.
i think this sort of love hate thing is universal throughout both films concerning the main players... the only people you don't care about are the side players, good or evil... they're just there to advance the story for Bill and his Five snakes (yes, that includes the Bride). They all have things about them that makes you want to empathize... and all do things that make you burn for vengence.
especially O-ren and Bud...
ah well...
i will be waiting for the 2 pack special edition to come out later in the summer or early fall (if im lucky)... gotta see those Crazy 88s again.
oh and, PS, Sam Jackson's there... kindof.

Gotta agree, it was great. Absolutely wonderful. A great end to two great movies. I have more or less loved all of Quentin's movies aside from Jackie Brown so I'm not surprised that this was great. If you havent seen it yet GO! And if you went to see Punisher INSTEAD of Kill Bill you should be bludgeoned with a steel studded rubber dildo cause your a retard.
Henry the Red: I am Henry the Red. Duke of Shale, Lord of the Northlands and leader of its peoples. Ash: Well helloooo mister fancypants. Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things.....Jack and shit... and Jack just left town.

I hate Terentino's movies. To me he's just another comic book geek who shouldn't be allowed to write or direct his own films. He tries too hard to capture the extremities of drama and dark comedy and blend them into something that ends turning into pure drivel that goes on and on for hours at a time.

that's actually WHY i like him. it's hard to find good movies from comic book geeks that aren't just in it to prove to the bullies in high school that the A/V club was NOT a waste.
it wasn't made to be some big budget, blockbuster, thought inspiring movie. it was pure B movie, cult fan crap in all it's glory. it was GREAT!!
好きなものは好きだからしょうがない!! So, fuck it.

It was ok. It was the storyline and the character of Bill that I found most entertaining. Because of the presence built from what we knew of him in the first film, he was kinda scary when we saw him. Kinda like what old George Lucas did with the Emperor in the classic Star Wars films.
Only Bill was a different kind of scary when we finally see him. We know that he's got an evil side, and yet he seems so damn nice! That was pretty cool if you ask the Kain.
