I don't know how much they're spending on advertising to promote this film, but I've seen the trailer 3 times in the hour since I got home from work. It seems they're heavily showing the trailer on MSNBC (go figure).
Apparently it's about Marines. The trailer looks pretty awesome, having Kanye West's "Jesus Walks" or whatever playing in the background. But we all know you can't judge a film by its trailer. *cough*Episode III*cough*
While Full Metal Jacket will always hold a special place in my heart, I'm looking forward to it. In Memory of the Busby Babes :

it looks pretty good, but no, nothing beats r. lee. ermy as the d.i. from hell. the other sous chef and i who are currently working together will quote lines from that movie for a commulative 2 hours a day.
"what is this, what in the fuck is this?"
"a jelly doughnut, sir"
"a jelly doughnut? well, how in the fuck did it get there......." take em all, take em all, put our back against a wall and shoot em, toe to toe, watch em fall, come on boys take em all.

the footage in the trailer looks pretty decent. it also has the greatest tag line for a film ever: "welcome to the suck"

Gyllenhaal. I love that guy. He amazes me. When I saw Bubbleboy, it didn't hit me that he was Donnie Darko until later. He's got quite an acting range.

Meh...I'm tired of war movies. Unless they involve swords. In that case, bring em on. The advent of gunpowder took all the romance out of war. Shadowborn To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Gunpowder was invented in the 9th century. They used swords way after that.

I meant the advent of gunpowder as an actual presence on the battlefield in mainstream warfare, dork. Don't make me get pedantic on your ass. The only thing saving you right now is that you've become my extra-special bestest friend since you started sporting the Rygel avy and the Farscape lineup in your sig. OMG. I love Rygel like I love breathing. I even named my Diablo character Rygel. And my battle.net login is RygelXVI. And the game I host is named Helium Fart. And ooohhhhhhhhh.. I love Rygel. In Memory of the Busby Babes :

I'm torn. I love them all equally, but I secretly want to be D'Argo...mainly so I can tap Chiana, and so I can say "I'm your daddy" and actually sound cool doing it. Shadowborn To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

But Dargo looks so queer in real life. It totally spoiled my image of him. Plus Chiana fucks him over.
I love Rygel more than anyone. But Aeryn comes next. And then Pilot. I hate Chiana. She walks like she's constipated. In Memory of the Busby Babes :

Yeah, he does look pretty goofy in real life.
I always thought she walks like she's got a stick up her ass, but then that just feeds the fantasy.
Call me mainstream, but Crichton is my favorite character, followed by Scorpius. And Harvey.
Hmm...methinks I should resurrect my Farscape thread before this one gets any more offtopic.

I would be pretty keen to see Jarhead when it comes out over here, Jake Gyllenhall is a pretty decent actor and really should have become a superstar after Donnie Darko.
And Scorpius was just the coolest guy in the galaxy! Cry Havoc! And let slip the dogs of war...

It doesn't seem like a bad movie. Though I don't really like war movies. I dunno I might check it out. Digging my way deeper and deeper until I find a way out. I bet you really loved the homo-erotic undertones in Top Gun, didn't ya. Val Kilmer and Tom Cruise in the shower. Nothing but a small swath of white terry cloth covering their quivering loins.
