....i haven't seen it, but it looks like they took the concept of terminator, a.i., and men in black and mixed them together in a rusty pot.

plus, shouldn't apple computer sue them over the title?

Having read most everything written by Mr. Asimov. I would have to say they did a decent job of reconstructing the short stories that the book contains.. Although they forgot that characters differed from story to story, At least that got Susan Calvin right...

Feel free to find a book containing many short stories and then YOU make a movie that is perfect out of it...

I found it entertaining and the plot plausible, in Asimov's world at least..

Did they do the 'Batman Begins' trailer before the movie as promised?

can someone explain the title to me? every time i see the trailer for that flick i sit there for 60 seconds trying to figure out the title.

It's to demonstrate how the robot has actual intelligence, or rather self-thought/actualization/realization crap.

As in..I am me! I AM ALIVE!

Rather than some tool that's mindless.

The previews I saw sucked awful, though.

the actual title(of the movie as well as book) comes from a statement made by one of the robots in one of the stories contained within the book..

During a conversation with Dr. Susan Calvin She asks the robot why it believes it is smarter. The robot replied: I AM therefore I think..

A reversal of the old addage "i think therefore i am"

That started the belief that the robots were individuals IE: "I"

I think it's a play on words "I AM" that God proclaims in the Bible. My guess is they're saying robots are god-like in power in the movie?

two predictions (since i have yet to see it)...

one, the suspected murderer robot is really a good guy (maybe he killed someone/something, maybe he didn't... i seem to remember that in the book, the supposed murder victim was himself a robot so that would be okay under the three laws)...

two, that will smith is either a cyborg or a robot himself...



mind you, this is all from what i've seen in the trailers... they really gotta stop giving away all the scenes.

my prediction: the movie sucks

I saw most of it...but the flim screwed up while the humans and the robots were charging at each other, so i didn't see the end. I was pissed. I AM pissed. I have to wait till this friday to go see it again.

i hate when that happens, my one friend DRAGGED me to the first lord of the rings movie..... and in the middle of it the film turned upside down and the sound went in reverse (haha, still using analog)......i found it hilarious when it happened at first, and thought perhaps it was a "sign" .....but nope my friend DRAGGED me back to see the customer satisfactions re-showing. aw well....

Someone described it as feeling like it was Men in Black 3...that Will Smith's character isn't really all that different from those movies. I don't really have a problem with that, I guess, but...*shrug* I'm beginning to wonder if Will Smith ever can do any other characters...

Smith started as a comedy dude.
Then he hit Independence Day...

And that's when the "Action Hero" status was attached to him.
In that movie he was a brazen, intelligent and amazing guy who had no qualms with fighting against something supposedly better than he.

He's stuck in that character-type because he's good at it.

i liked i robot and then my dad (if you cant see well is darktiggr) found some of his Asimov books and so did my mom so i have a good chance at reading them

I, Question; does it bear any resemblance to the asimov book?

I think Im gonna go see this movie when it comes out is it worth seeing
