I recently rented the DVD "HG Wells The Time Machine " circa 2002

This screen version which was directed by HG Wells great grandson Simon Wells, took some creative liberties with the novel but I still found it very entertaining. While this film was produced after the 9/11 tragedy it was by no way influenced by it. The scenes of 2030 NYC were a fitting tribute, showing mighty superskycapers that dwarfed the Twin Towers and Empire State Building.

but what they didnt show were those mighty skyscrapers being pulverized by large chunks of the moon as they came crashing down in one sequence. the edited it out. know why? you got it. 9/11. so much for no influence. ;}

Who cares? The movie sucked. It was crap. Guy Pearce should be ashamed.

Like I said there were allot of creative liberities taken. I would not have noticed that one.

Even though the film tried to stay within the spirit of the story I want to ask why the Time Traveller did not go back to his own time with knoweldge of the future to try to alter it?

I would also like to ask why the Uber-Morlock who could allegedly read minds not know that the Time Traveller was going to jump him on the time machine?

I would like a sequel showing other inventor following in the steps of the first Time Traveller and meeting up with him.

because.....I hated it. I thought it was a dull, boring, and pretty stupid movie.
