Since his last name was on the police report, and they know he's from New York, I'm pretty sure that a connected guy Bennett would know exactly who Peter was.

I kept thinking that Peter just gets too close to radioactive guy and couldn't control that power but the "too many Heroes nearby" theory is interesting, especially since the hint about radioactive guy exploding (he mentioned he could go off like a bomb) was a bit too obvious and possibly meant to make us think in that direction.. Another thing to remember, the radioactive guy isn't harmed by the radiation he puts off. So perhaps Peter could explode and not be harmed.

Ooh, here's an idea. Radiation poisoning causes a breakdown on the cellular level. If he gains the ability to emit radiation, but doesn't have the natural protection against it that radioactive guy does, his cells could break down, causing a "meltdown" of sorts, and the explosion.
However, if he's got Claire with him, his cells would be able to repair themselves, stopping the explosion. If that's the case, then Hiro is right, and it really is "Save the cheerleader
and you save the world."

I was under the impression that the Haitian guy was always what protected Claire's dad from various powers. Note that he was hiding behind a corner when they were in the interrogation room. Maybe he kept him nearby whenever he talked to Sylar too and Eden didn't realize it.

Excellent point. I've just thought he's got the ability to mess with people's brainwaves, hence he can block telepathy and wipe memories. However, if he can mess with
all brain impulses, he would be able to potentially block all powers, which means he'd be the perfect safety net against Sylar. Still, I'm not sure that's the case; if it was, then Bennett would simply have sent him after Sylar alone.
