Dear Sam Raimi,

Why must you torture your loyal fans? First Spiderman, and now this? Have you stopped and taken into account the fact that Evil Dead was made shitty for a reason?! It's part of the charm. I don't want to see CGI and expensive effects. I don't want to see Ashton Kutcher or Tara Reid or even worse... PAUL WALKER in this movie! I know the cast isn't confirmed, but I can see in my head the crapfaces you're going to have play in this movie.

And how does Bruce Campbell feel about this? Huh? HUH, MOTHERFUCKER?! I hope you die. You are a mean, mean man. You're going to shit all over one of my absolute favorite movies.

bruce campbell has already said that they won't be tarnishing the legacy of the almighty ash in these remakes, he owns the full rights to that character.

I wonder though are they remaking evil dead 2/3 or a remake of evil dead 1 which I always considered seperate from the series.

there was a Q&A session for his last movie, and he was asked about the remake by various people. i'll see if i can find the article again, if i can. he also said that there are still plans to make evil dead 4 after sam is finished with spiderman 3. the remakes are a chance for other directors to have a crack at re-inventing the story for sam's ghosthouse production company.

It wasn't that it was separate, really. It's just they couldn't get the rights to show the scenes from Evil Dead I to recap in Evil Dead II. So they basically just recreated the beginning to set up the story for Ash being in the cabin.

Well the Ash from Evil Dead 1 dies at the end if you remember, he is walking out of the house at the end and it ends with the demons ripping through the house and getting him. I think the thing was that they never expected Evil Dead to do so well, so they decided to start it over and remake it with some new stuff. I mean I dont think it was a rights think, Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell pretty much independantly produced it from thie rown pockets. There was just no reason ot have an evil dead 2 if evil dead one was to be in continuation, at least not with Ash in it. So they pretty much redid it and started it over. Thats why I considered it seperate from the other 2.

man this reminds me of south park. where on south park they were trying to stop people in hollywood on having to make re-makes of movies.

He didn't die. If you've seen Army of Darkness, then it tells the story of how he the dimensional portal opened up and sucked him into the past. All it shows in Evil Dead I is a quick zoom into his face, IMPLYING something bad happens.

And I didn't just make this shit up about not being able to obtain the rights. Most fans of the movies know that.

Army of Darkness talks about evil dead 2. Not evil dead 1. I think we may be talking about something differnt here. I am talking about the 1st evil dead, the one where Ash his girlfriend and sister and his buddy and his girlfriend go to the woods and they all die that night. Except for Ash who when he is walking out of the cabin in the morning you hear the demon doing it RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR thing, breaks down the cabin door, goes through the back door and nails Ash where it ends. I would say that probably meant he was dead, and why they decided to redo the entire film over in Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn. Which of course was followed up by Army of Darkness. The 1st film was done in the late 70s and early 80s, and Bruce was mighty young.

No, honey... Evil Dead II is NOT a remake of the first movie. It was intended to be a continuation of Ash's experience in the woods AFTER what happened in the first movie.

However, due to being unable to obtain the rights to show scenes from Evil Dead I to recap the story... they were forced to redo the beginning of Evil Dead II so they could explain why Ash was in the cabin in the first place.

I've explained all this before. And if you'd stop arguing with me and research it, you'd see I was correct.

I have researched it, I watched evil dead 1 last night. He died at the end. Its hard ot beleive he had 2 girlfriends named linda whom he gave the same gift to twice and killed the same way twice.

By the way they burned the book of the dead in part 1 as well. Not to mention if you listen to the commentary on it they said that there was a lot of confusion over this very issue, but they dont really clarifiy.

I know Bruce and Raimi are good high school friends and that the 4th is planned but not yet set. Bruce owns all the rights to Ash the character himself as can be seen by the fact that anyone using the Ash character must obtain the rights from him-- the two Vid games have his voice because they can use no other voice

If Ashton Kutcher is cast though I will refrain from seeing this one. I am going to bruces myspace right now and telling him so.... you may also go here--

He used to send out autographed pictures like 10 years ago. I remember I actually happend upon his AOL screen name one time by accident and exhanged several emails with him. He was extreamily nice and I couldnt believe he would bother replying. He sent me an autographed picture after that one time too.

he kicks ass. He will go out of his way to talk to fans and will spend hours reading e-mails and letters.
