Based on the DC-Vertigo comic book Hellblazer, Constantine is a science fiction suspense drama about renegade occultist John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) who has literally been to hell and back. I got to say that even in the trailer he looks pretty fucking weak and way out of his depth in such an intense character. For fecks sake he's proved several times that he can't act his way out of a paper bag so why give him this part!!!

I like Reeves. And I also liked the trailer. I just simply hope that this does not turn into another 'Special Effects Shit Cloud' like 'Van Hellsing'

BUT, this movie I think will suck basically because if you are an avid fan of Constantine then there is no way on earth you can identify with Reeves playing the part. He just simply ain't man enough. If you read the books you'd know...

gavin rossdale is hot and a great singer but i have my doubts about his acting skills... (after seeing some interviews, he sorta acts weird and all)

seriously though, it'll probably be a good movie, the trailer looks slick. but with the many changes it's got no chance of being a good translation of the original books, another alan moore creation bastardised. i just hope and pray they deliver with v. for vendetta and watchmen, those books definitely can't be fucked with.

What gets me is that apart from Constantine being a blonde haired English guy in his mid 40's he is also NOT clean cut like little Mr Reeves. Constantine is usually looking like a bum and is rough as fuck with a serverly lived in face.... Who the hell thought Neo Geo would be able to pull this shit off??? Did they actually read the fecking books before casting???

I'm not sure what to think of this movie yet. On one hand, it looks interesting enough. On the other, it looks like it might be kind of dry. I don't know anything about the comic it's based on, but I've heard a lot of gripes specifically in regards to Constantine's appearance in the movie and his appearance in the graphic novel. At least though it has an 'R' rating so with that, it might be more faithful to the original story. Either way, I'll probably see it as I have a few friends looking forward to it.

this would be my reason for seeing it, but of all the anti heroes torn between heaven and hell...why not hellstrom, the son of satan, i think he would be a much more interesting story...

heck, ghost rider would be more interesting, or angela from the spawn series...now that would be a movie worth seeing
