I saw an interesting slant on this in a really good Drama called Ultra Violet, I've been trying to track it down on video for ages, if you can get it do, it's about a branch of the police who deal with vampires.
They covered the blood disease bit brilliantly, in it the vampires were very concerned by blood diseases, not from any fear of harming themselves but because it was a threat to their food supply and they were trying to synthesise artificial blood they could feed on.
It was a really good show (Only 9 episodes), the cops even used wooden tipped bullets.
It really dragged the whole establishment Vs. Vampires thing into the present, explaining everything scientifically.
Hmm... thank you for sharing that info sweets. ~smiles~ Haven't heard of the show myself, but ahh well. May I'll catch it sometime. It sounds really interesting.
Ultraviolet was a Sci-Fi channel original show. It as you stated only ran 9 episodes over the summer season. It was cancelled due to bad reviews and no audience. I doubt that it will make it to video. It might show those same shows you have seen in repeats during the summer slump on sci fi.
Let them hate me provided they fear me
It is all true; God is an astronaut, Oz is over the rainbow, Midian is where the monsters live and you came here to die
I'm talking about a Channel 4 Series, all British actors, set in London.
Got rave reviews, the reason they didn't make a second series is that the main actor, Jack Davenport, didn't want to and the whole series hinged around his character.
The Channel 4 series was excellent - I loved the way everything was a grey area - every argument had a counterargument and nobodys motives were unquestionable.
I don't know if that version was ever shown in America.
It is available to buy though - I picked up a copy on DVD a couple of months ago & I'm pretty sure I saw the videos at the same time.
Ultra violet was a filmfour/scifi co-production starring a few people, but it was a typical channel 4 bad idea. they put it on late on a sunday night and didn't really advertsie it.
Too damn right it slumped. Shame really!
yet forever knight went for about 5/6 years?

"I've oft been told by learned friars
That wishing and the crime were one
And heaven punishes desires
As much as if the deed were done.
If wishing damns us, you and I
Are damned to all our hearts content.
Come then we may at least enjoy
Some pleasure for our punishment..."
