i thought "hey, it has ministry in it, it must be good" but i was wrong. that was one of the shittiest movies i have ever seen.

well gffuckingyou... personally, I shall reserve judgement until i actually see it...

its the strange amalgamated bastard child of the spielberg/kubrickian coupling, and its off putting nature that makes this movie even more compelling. to me atleast.

this flick and its fans just wont give up. i was just over at www.aintitcool.com they just put up a link to the newest trailer for spileberg's next film MINORITY REPORT......and the talk back made to discuss that preview quickly became a big A.I. discussion.

i hold to the idea that A.I. is a movie in which you will only get as much out of it as you are willing to put into it. there is subtext and deeper meaning to this film. you just have to WANT to find it. if all you were looking for was a ministry cameo then that is all you will get.

speilburg should have made the miniseries that kubrick origonally wanted the movie to be instead of trying to condense it to one 3 hour movie.

damn my ass fell asleep half way into that movie and by the time it was over i had get wheeled outa the theatre...

it did have it's moments though

how can you have an opinion on a movie in which you fell asleep through? i suppose you could have one up to a certain point but still.........

spielberg did pretty much exactly what kubrick wanted. he followed the structure that kubrick layed out for the film. they had discussed the film for years before it was made. you do realize that by implying it should have been made into a miniseries , would only have made it LONGER. you seem to be against that. ;}

My brother told me that he fell asleep while watching it. He said that it sucked big time but this is coming from a person who also fell asleep while watching 12 Monkeys.

I'll have to wait until I watch it to form an opinion.

AI is a good movie... im not saying its the end all be all of Film, but it works on countless levels... I left it last night in a strange sort of calm... it represented very well the strengths and weaknesses of humanity and our quest for immortality and idolatry...

and yes it would have made it longer but it would have been more broken up, it would be like running 5 little races instead of a marathon, at least with 5 races you get a break...

but you also lose the mood...

i thought it was a beautiful movie, it showed a bond of love thorugh an amazing amount of stupid people, are the ones in here who dont like even sure they understood what it was about?

i think that is a problem... AI was about a lot of things all at once. People tend to focus on the first thing that comes to them... Spielburg did a good job, but its not his best... some lines seemed to come out of nowhere, and the cameos seemed a bit forced... a good cameo either be obvious in a campy movie (like Liza Manelli in Silent Movie) or well hidden in a serious movie (like Marc Anthony in Bringing out the Dead)

i enjoy the fact that this is not an easy movie to pin down with just one simple explanation. people see many different things. the way it seems to engender so much varying discussion is its strength. there is no 'absolute' to it. as far as my thinking goes.

i dont think they were so much 'cameos' as they were just...casting.

i agree that this may not be spielberg's best. but it certainly feels like his strangest. but then, MINORITY REPORT is coming up.....;}

I liked it, it was a bit too sickly sweet in some places but the characters and their interactions interested me.

do you have to watch all of the star wars movies at once to keep the mood?
