What do you guys do for a living..... and how is your average day spent?

My official title is: Information Technology Consultant.... but basically its a glorified helpdesk job with decent salary. Its mostly just waiting around for shit to break. So as you can tell I get pretty bored.

my day consists of:

8:00 am - 10:00 am - Check email, myspace, darkforum, ebay...etc
10:00 - 11:30 - creating network accounts and other administrative tasks
11:30 - 12:30 - lunch (sleepy time in my car)
12:30 - 2:00 - design graphics, work on webpages
2:00 - 2:30 - take a break, walk around the lake outside, smoke a cig or two
2:30 - 5:00 - wait for shit to break/fix broken shit

From 8AM till 7PM I work as Tech support for a medical software company called Allscripts.

During which time I also check e-mails, make random posts, rude comments, occasional e-bay, and...thats about it.

Friday-Saturday I pay bills and do all the crap I didnt do durning the week by day, and by night I generally party.

Since July I started working construction as a carpenter.

6- 9:30 hide from the foreman, do whatever I am supposed to, right now I am doing concrete for Yale, so its mostly building giant wall forms.

9:30-9:45 Break

9:45-11:55 continue avoiding my foreman and superintendent, out of sight is out of mind, continue my giant fucking gang wall forms.

120 - 12:30 lunch/nap in the Conex box.

12:35 - 20 wrap up anything I was working on.

20 - 3:30 nuttin new after 2, look busy for an hour and a half.

3:30 go home or find out I have to work late, in which case

3:30 - 70 look busy for as long as I can and avoid the super/foreman.

70 go home, contemplate homicide.

Mmmm Homicide- its whats for dinner.

Its amazing what you can find out about a person when they list the name of the company that they work for.

And to answer your question- They just got their asses handed to them by State, which I was thrilled about.

As far as Furries are concerned, Im not a great fan- though I do enjoy art and native american culture of spirit guides.

And let us not be mistaken- there is a great difference between a Furry, and someone who enjoys art- and Im not into fur suits and 'yiff'.

i don't have a set schedule and even that non-set schedule swaps around depending on the time of year.

april - october looks something like this:

monday; get back from travel.
tues - thursday; edit photos, write stories.
fri; leave for travel.


nov - march is much lighter on travel so it looks like this:

mon - thurs; fuck off until i feel creative enough to write or spend a few hours in photoshop editing pics.

fri - sun (sometimes monday); get shitfaced at the bars, go to the beach, watch football.

rinse, wash, repeat.

i work in a video store, i have worked in some form of movie sales industry for the last five years, i get to look pretty, talk about movies, stars and dazzle people with how i can know exactly what movie they're talking about with one actor/actresses name and a brief description of the story line, sometimes all it takes is the story line...i get to suggest what movies people want to see, what i thought of them, and basically have the power over their video enjoyment experience, while getting to disuade them from renting with the guys in blue and yellow.

oh, i get to recommend porn too, it's disturbing sometimes when men seem to have no clue what they want to watch when renting one of those movies, and impressive how many girls know exactly what to rent for their boyfriend/husband when he gets off work...and i never new there were so many genres in the adult erotic entertainment industry. *faints*

it's an easy job with adequate pay that is more entertainment than work.

I am the Nutrition Manager/Asst. Scanning Coordinator at Smiths' Grocery.

I stock the nutrition department shelves and scan tags and have a wierd schedule.

I also spend upwards of 20 hours a week helping run my coffee shop.

So say if I get to work at 6AM i would get off a 2pm and go into the shop for a while. I also do all the shop finances/books/taxes/sales taxes/purchasing/ and bill paying.

I am currently unemployed. It's a tough job, but you know what they say...

Mon & Wed 700AM: Punch in and start my short shift as the parts front counter person
1000AM: Work in IT building servers, helping staff, the usual crap
500PM: Go home
Tue & Thurs 800am punch in, work in parts dept
1100am move to IT
500pm Go home
Fridays depend..some days I am in at 7, some I am in at 8.
I work ever other Saturday from 8 till 1 in parts.

Still trying to figure out why they have me on the front counter dealing with customers and wholesale...

Also I am on call 24/7 an have to go in at night and weekends.

I am in the same situation... it sucks.

Im not sure I could be on call 24/7. Im hot tempered as it is, and if someone were to call me with a stupid issue at 3am...dead men tell no tales...
