I saw polyamory listed in the description of the Modus Vivendi forum. I looked around so I could see what everyone thinks of it, but I didn't find anything. So then,.. I like polyamory. I've yet to meet another that has the same feelings. Does anyone have anything to comment on polyamory? ... ... ... First off, let's give a definition. Polyamory is a way of life and thinking that is opposite of the term 'monogomy'. The word itself means 'many loves'. A polyamorous person believes it is okay to be in loving relationships with more than one person. These relationships do not necessarily have to include sexual behavior, or even affection. All that qualifies for polyamory is a love for more than one person.

I think Jordyn would need to input into this topic when she gets back. Personally, I understand the theory but ideally I prefer monogamy. Monogamy is easier to comprehend, I think my head would be shed if I ventured outside of monogamy.
btw- isn't it 'polygamy' rather than 'polyamory'?

I think polygamy has more to do with the religious practice of having multiple wives.

sadly, though, if you practice it long enough, most places call polyamory a common law polygamy and throw your ass in jail... and all thanks to those fucking mormans. ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Not my thing. At all. I'm not good at sharing. A golden energy
Was rising out of my head
I shed my evil skin
And found myself again I was wrong, I don't mind
The impossible seems possible
This time I'm an electric wire
If the sun can radiate then so can I

that's the thing about poly... it's only worth sharing if you really love the people involved. ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

If it is just love and not all about sex, don't you love your family, your friends as well as your lover? Or is it only defined as romantic love?...what is many romantic loves if they don't include sex? have you seen my marbles?

Im both selfish and lazy, so I think monogomy is most suited for me. I tend to pick favourites. I can't date and keep friends at the same time. How on earth could I have multiple partners at once? A lot of people feel that you must not love someone if you are willing to 'share' them. I suppose those people will never understand until they end up in a situation where they love more than one person. People like to go with what works, and what is more convenient. Polyamory demands more effort from each person. Honesty is more important in a polyamorous relationship. I think people should try it. Once something goes wrong, however, don't automatically assume that polyamory doesn't work. After all, there are problems in traditional relationships, but how often do you hear someone claim that monogamy doesn't work? Sounds like a double standard to me.
It suits some people and not others. So do what makes you happy.

It's often hard enough work figuring out where you stand with one person let alone a bunch of people who might or might not agree with your lifestyle.
Is it wrong for a person to love lots of people, but each of these people only have eyes for that one person? Unless everyone else has other people to spend time with too, sounds like lots of work. have you seen my marbles?
