Ohgr is pretty good I was suprised to hear it the first time since the singer in ohgr was the singer in Skinny Puppy.

OhGr is doing a solo project now. I saw him singing with KMFDM in concert a few years ago.

Nivek Ogre is his name.... and he has worked with quite a few bands..... his real name is Kevin.... hence the nickname Nivek..... kevin backwards..... he has worked with Ministry, Pigface, KMFDM, MDFMK, amongst others..... Ohgr is his new project and they have some quite good songs..... I was going to see them when they played live here... but i did not....
he did get his start with Skinny Puppy..... as the Lead Vocalist...

Ogre rules. He has been a big influence on my song writting especially when I first started playing electro/industrial music. The last Ogre album is phenoninal. I have always been a SP fan but I like his solo material much more. I just picked up Bedside Toxicolgy, which is Ogre and Martin Atkins. Pretty good.

I would love it if they sold a bunch of records and became popular. It would be kind-of anti-goth, but that would be a real revitalization of the Gothic Scene.

I dont think They really are striving to Become really popular and be on mtv then they would be sellout's probubly...

Really, that's different. Usually they will sell the performing bands cd, but not just gothic in general. Neat innovation. Bands need to make just a basic amount of money to keep going. All that equipment costs something and if working full time means moving out of your parents house, I think WallMart wins hands down.

yeah .... well they were selling the music that was not easily found in the stores, they had about 20 different band's cds.

There was a trend that started around the Goths I knew in Utah. Everyone wanted everything to be free. If you were friends or even just Goth, it was liked they "owed" you something. I would often get in the clubs free, but I'd make sure to get a drink, atleast. I didn't want the club to shut down. Someone has to pay the bills.

Showing support for the scene often involves charitable donations in exchange for something you like. Poseurs and Muchers took to much control. Started calling the people who had been around awhile "poseurs." It was sad. You know if money wasn't such a big deal to them, they wouldn't cling to it like their life source.

Just some observations. Gives some hope that maybe the Goths won't go the Punk route and just be a squat for junkies.

The only club here that has a "goth" night actually does not charge a cover on that night...instead they will ask for donations, you can pay, or not. I will always give a few bucks in. most other nights they will charge a cover before a certain time.
