I have a weird way of life you all problablly can find yourself in.
I feel like everyone has something against themselves because most people say that they hate selfish people but i think everyone is selfish, because in real life the most important person in it is yourself because it is your own life and every person i ask has said no my mom is my girlfriend or boyfriend is but its all not true you are the most important person.
I really think its stupid and people really don't think about thing's like that most people dont wanna think about things because it problably makes them scared

From what InKY just mentioned, I think this is where that dividing line comes in to do with how close you decide to remain in your animal nature as a human.

In a way, yes, I do agree with you, DD, because I have learned for myself that I am more useful to people around me many times (though not 100% all the time) when I take care of me first.

I agree you can only mean something to someone when you yourself are a 100% happy with yourself, most people disagree with me but that's problably because i dont have that much intellegent people around me.

Even though I live in the same country as you do , we Dutch are very open when it comes to some things but sometimes that's just a great farce !

I got my online friends for that ! And some great ones at that !

now ppl are selfish, it is in their nature, but, think about this also, how many times have you put away your want, and done what your girlfriend or mother askedyou to do, now yes ppl are a selfish bunch, but if we stop and think there are ppl who put pther ppl ahead of them, prolly cause it gives them a better sense of feeling like, hey i just made them better,

To do something right for someone uselly means excpecting something back so still in a smal way your doing stuff for yourself every little thing in the world is actually for yourself because your life is your's and no one else's.

That's a very egoist point of view. I like to think that at least some of the time people do things for mutual benefit rather than just for themselves. However, I do agree that real and true altruism is a pipe dream.

Well think about it when you do something for another person it gives you a good feeling doesn't it? so for 10 % your also doing it for yourself.
And i dont think being egocentric is a bad thing..
Being TO egocentric is a bad thing..

I think most acts of kindness, whether we admit to this or not, are indeed of mutual benefit as Psy-Chan hinted at.

If you are polite to somebody, or kind to somebody, it's likely that same politeness will be returned and vice versa.

I don't believe that this is being egotistical, I believe it's a survival mechanism and that most people won't even realise they are doing it.

In conclusion, I don't think it's selfishness - it's self-preservation.
