Has anyone ever wondered what it would like to be a wanderer? to drop all things, stop being a property owner and just roam the earth. Surviving by whatever means, getting into adventures along the way, meeting new people without attachment and just move on. I think it sounds kind of romantic. Some might say, well that is just a bum, but I still think the idea sounds pretty cool.
Not that I am going to become a wanderer, just sounds like a cool lifestyle.

Nope, I enjoy sleeping in my bed, under my covers and staying nice and toasty warm... even better when you have someone to steal body heat from too Homer: Ah he has all the money in the world. But you know what he can't buy? Marge: What is that Homy? Homer: *Thinks* A Dinosaur!!!

We have a lot of those wanderers in downtown Victoria. Unfortunately, they all look pretty miserable.

Ah, Victoria B.C... where a loaf of decent bread is $5.00, an apple costs $1.25, and where a $275,000 house will cost you $540,000. Ha, ha, can you sense my discontent? I always feel like I'm being ripped off here.
It's a pretty place but is overrated IMO. There are lots of beautiful places in the world.
Back to the subject... might be nice to wander for a couple of months, but I'd want a home to come back to. And I'd miss my cats.

I haven't. I don't like being a vagrant. Its much cooler to work hard then travel with a shit load of money in style. Beats wandering around homeless and penniless eating out of trash cans and sleeping under bridges.

Yeah thats true. I would much rather be a wanderer with a fat bank account than a poor one.

I work in a hotel and often cross paths with "wanders" of both the poor and rich varieties. On either side, they always seem to be discontent. From the homeless man who steals 30mins of sleep in the pissy mens room stall or the well-to-do business man who whines that his pillows aren't fluffy enough...both desire a familar place to hang their hats and a home cooked meal.

I dunno, their discontent might be caused from their life in general, and not from their wandering. Some people just aren't happy.
I think some people might find pleasure in traveling and roaming. The same kind of people that can't stand to be in the same place for more than 30 minutes.

What the reaction from people are is how you are dressed/act. More dressed tho.
If you got the money, then you will, most likely, pay out for the decent hotel. That changes the definition of an actually 'wanderer' per see.. It makes you a traveler instead.. Beware the ex's.. They ARE out to get you... Nice guys finish last It isn't just a saying.. It's a fact of life! Those things that produced your ex......you know, the bitchmakers! Metagion

It makes you a traveler instead.. | My definition would be.. a traveler is someone who has a permanent place to live, but occasionally travels. A wanderer would be someone who doesn't have a permanent place to live, and continually travels.
At least, thats how I think of it.

more or less...
I had somewhere i 'could' return to. But it wasn't "MY" home.. I did it to learn about people. As well as meet new folk.. Cross a state line and everything can change drastically!!
I can't say that I'm actually proud of it. But i have held residency in at least 14 states over my life...
I happen to be lucky enough to have traveled enough when i was younger that i can naturally copy a particular accent subconsciously.. 20 minutes of talking, and I'll be talking like you... keeps you out of bar fights, and got me laid a few times as well!!! HAHA Beware the ex's.. They ARE out to get you... Nice guys finish last It isn't just a saying.. It's a fact of life! Those things that produced your ex......you know, the bitchmakers! Metagion

Actually, my french teacher who used to work in a motel/hotel late hours in a bad neighbourhood, and prostitutes would come in and he would allow them the room for 30-60mins and they would remake the bed, and he would pocket the money got... says it paid for his education Homer: Ah he has all the money in the world. But you know what he can't buy? Marge: What is that Homy? Homer: *Thinks* A Dinosaur!!!
