I was wondering what you guys think about poetry in general... likes, dislikes, etc..... someone let me know topics of interest so that I can I can post some of my poetry for feedback...

i like deep meaningful poetry, even if it isn't understandable i know that the composer of the poems wrote them in a code only known to them, thats all that matters. Even if it clashes or is only a few lines, it expresses so much in such little wordings, what you can't figure out you can interperet from either your experiences or from a thought, its always very open and out of the ordinary.



Some of My favorite poets include: Edgar Allen Poe, William Shakespear, Iris Caudle, Ezra Nezbit, Anne Radcliffe, Alexandre Xavier, and so on...

Is there a particular subject that interests you?

actually yes, i tend to like poems about your thoughts i dont quite know if that classify's as a subject but anything out of the ordinary , what do you write?

Well honestly.... It depends on how my day went... I write whatever comes to mind at the time... If it about how love has screwed me over... so be it.... If it is about how people don't understand the way I am.... Alright then.... I suppose I am fickle like that.

I would really be interested in reading your work have you posted recently? I usually think to fast to write things down so when i do its quite an acomplishment, i write about how i feel and whats going on around me and anything else thats lurkinfg in my mind:p

No I have not posted anything period.... Why would you want to read something from little ol' me? It's really nothing to write home about... it is that stupid "it has to rhyme" stuff anyway.....

Free To Fly Tonight

I'm left alone to face the world
My wounds still fresh,
Unhealing.
Lost souls return, yet I remain
My soul still cold,
Unfeeling.

Sweet death draws near, it's kiss so soft
It's touch will last,
Forever.
When will I give in, to end the pain?
Will it be now,
Or never.

The night has come to steal my heart
Blind to the truth,
Unseeing.
I won't give in, I can't. Not now.
I won't succomb,
Unbeliving.

The past is gone, it's damage done
Memories in stone,
Unmoving.
Thoughts fill my mind, increasing my fear
Not helping my soul,
Unsoothing.

Suppress the pain I must be released
I must be free,
To love
My heart must fly, must take to the air
I need the stars,
Above.



I beat the dark, destroy the rage
I now can take
To flight.
I spread my wings to reach the stars
I'm free to fly,
Tonight.

i like the rhymes, not to hip on the classic ending but definatly like it!, i think you should post it, got any more?

That is one of the few of mine that are positive at the end... yes I have more.... where would I post it at?

*blushing wildly* no one has ever liked my poetry... of course... I don't let people read it...... hehehe

What I like in poetry (in general) is language (metaphores, biglongwords etc), imagery (its cool if I can picture whats goin on), and comparison (being able to relate to what's goin on)... Metaphores are the coolest though

I must say you sound quite intelligent... (as I think i spelled it wrong!)

aww, see thats how i am with my art though i wont let people see, so i dont know people's opinions on it, it sux but maybe someday i'll post ohh the angst!!
