nice. i like this one, but yeah the original is better. only so much you can do with the formatting here, though. one, i had to save as a picture file and upload it because i couldn't get the format even close to right.

Is that really what Gothic Poetry has become? That was hideous. What happened to the style of Edgar Allen Poe, and other Gothic poets, you know, the stuff that was actually good?

I've done shits that are better than that poem.

I don't see you enlightening us with any grand poetry yourself jcc, it would be different if you had.

Would it be? As far as I was aware, opinion is opinion, and whether or not I've dabbled in poetry (which I have for school projects, they took about five minutes to write and were still better than this drivel) does not actually affect my opinion in any way, shape or form, only it's credibility, or importance, would change.

And as it happens, I don't like the poem. I think he/she just strung together random depressing words, put them facing vertically and then wrote a meaningless sentence underneath because they thought that the abstract (replace abstract with shite wherever you see fit) placing of the words would make people think it was anything better than abysmal.

Gothic poetry?! Isn't it more of an example of modern/experimental/post-modern works?

Just because this forum QUOTE-UN-QUOTE caters to the gothic sub-genre(s), doesn't mean all its members or discussions are gothic.

I think the poem itself has it's strong points and it's weak points, where it lacks being a well written poem or making a solid, clear statement, it makes up for with imagery and emotion. I'm interested in seeing more poems by this user, preferably a much longer poem.

JCC's second post was alot better put than his first.

Remember you are putting your stuff up for the entire world to view.

This means you will get as many horrible opinions as you might others.

Your above poem would have been much better if you had hidden the vertical lines with more horizontal lines and left a small explanation or even better NO explanation.

As it stands it is quaint.
