We've probably done this with prose at one point or another. Here's my attempt at it with poetry.


Ring My Door Bell

I'm sitting here with my headphones on
lyrics blasting emotions undefined
thinking back to the days when mornings were beautiful
the stillness of the world loud and clear singing the ways of life
nothing to be known or misunderstood
just simply the way you fell when the door bell rings
and your not waiting for anyone
the inlcination that the world is ok from a few words
given by a boy who knows little of this place
(but somehow manages to keep his head up when the horn blows)
makes things seem perfectly alright
And the music gets louder
and my emotion runs deeper
and before long i wont be able to hear anymore
and just think about that
i'll have to talk with my hands
or maybe I wont talk at all
The bell is ringing again, and I still havent called anyone
your here on your own desire and I like it that way
and somehowsomewhere I forgot what I was saying and thinking and feeling
because who knows whats really going on
I turn the music down because I'm feeling fuzzy after watching someone elses story
I'm thinking of the words I could produce to show my core
but who wants to go there
dieties and demigods are all I know
the spirites of this world are everpresent
being mixed into your coffee
or baked into your cake
the smell of religous icons fresh out of the oven is astoundingly sweet
And the door bell isnt ringing anymore
and I've begun to wait
I'm waiting for the mornings to feel beautiful again
and waiting for life to be exciting
I'm sitting here with the metaphorical lyrics about
the things I dont understand even if I know them personally
and thats half the fun
I hear the words of people before me saying that its up to us
the new generation that doesnt give a damn
give us our money, our toys, and maybe in a few years
we'll remember to consider you
or maybe
we wont talk at all and waste our days with dreams
When none of us are happy and your smiling at our idiocy
please be kind
The bell has been silent lately
but maybe the phone will ring instead
you never know what will happen when the talking doesnt
my hands are tired from attempts at communication
somehow I dont think I'll ever get there
But always remember
that when I'm not waiting
your welcome to ring my door bell

i really liked it.....good example of prose, nice imagery, good meaning......

only thing that slightly buggered me was the grammar (spelling, no commas and shit) but thatz niether here nor there with me really....
