I find something fun to do is to start off modeling a song after another (in this case, it fits Weezer's "Butterfly" and then changing the melody and music totally.

I wrote my own little melody to the chorus of "skies so blue"... it writes itself. Good job.

I wrote that one to coldplay's "yellow" (that should be totally obvious if you look at it again...the structure's similar) and then did totally different stuff with the music. I don't know if I'll ever use that one thought.

I wrote a better song than you then, if you wrote the music (akin to the lyrics) akin to the song "Yellow"....man, I hate that song. gah.
