Hello, so it's my first time to post poetry here so here we go.
A bit about this poem. This is a poem written from a Babylonian perspective when the Assyrians seized control of Babylonian empire. Gods mentioned here are Adad and Ereshkigal. The god of lightening being the first, and the god of the underworld, being the latter.
I got this poem published aswell
Razorblades of green grass no longer sting
Cool raindrops fall on my skin and bring
an endless melody of great wonders
Fantasies never reveal behind the borders
Mystic Romance written with lust
that will shatter and linger with dust
Take me to the Hanging Gates of Babylon
Free from endless misery
I know no death no pain
I do not spill my tears
My eyes do not bleed
I know no death no fear
Bold leaves will soon rust
For Babylon is falling to dust
Oh Adad what has caused your rage?
For I feel tingling in my heart is pain
Oh Ereshkigal why today?
What has made you take out your hate?
Bonded to endless misery I became
For love, I shall tame
rivers and seas and gods and fears
White roses shall come to me
They want to reign over our kingdom
Demolish our altars and destroy our rhythm
My eyes begin to bleed salty water
as the world starts to shatter
We are lead into exile
No chances into facing a trial
The Hanging Gates does not exist
And I soon will turn into a myth
Soft Tragedies the gardens felt
False Romances the women dealt
Long Grudges the leaves held
And now I know what is pain.
