I lay here, adrift in shadows,
crashing waves of memory;
in a time, a place where togetherness
is wedded with euphoric bliss.
If only
this loneliness didn’t sting so
of a cruel reality and a bitter irony:
If only
the ocean between us
was an obstacle that could be contended with…
Ensnared by this web of seduction;
consumed by this burning thirst and hunger:
aching, starving, living, dying
for the salvation only
we can give each other.
Yet I find…all I have to do is
Close my eyes and follow;
a trickle of crystalline tears shed for love,
a rivulet of crimson blood that binds
and the summons of an aching soul will call me home…
I close my eyes;
let my love take me…
for it gives me the wings
to conquer an ocean;
the power to defy space and time;
the ability to see you, feel you, touch you, hold you…

Midnight Muse of a Lover


I lay here, drifting
in soft light and thick shadows
My body relaxed,
my mind restless…
my heart yearning,
my soul aching for completion.
I wish, at least, that I could sleep
yet I watch the clock:
I toss, I turn…
I am here, yet not.
Is this a semblance of despair ?
My need is so great
I can practically taste it:
My desire, my longing so overwhelming
it threatens to engulf me….
Penetrating every fiber of my being;
possessing all of me.
This foul tasting, bitter irony
that is reality eats away at me;
the distance, this forced separation
is an unbearable agony.
Yet I cling desperately,
faithfully, to all I have
and have finally found
IN YOU.
Against odds I battle wearily:
for you, our union, true love,
for us, our chance at happiness, a future,
for sweet completion…
In this bed,
in these enveloping shadows;
when I can do nothing else
but be consumed with missing you….
I lay here, helpless
in the night; alone, yet not…
haunted, distracted
by this love I have for you.
My best friend, my lover, my soul mate;

So loud, deafening my thoughts to me
Sound of silence, drip drip darkness,
Second sight watched me a vagabond

Solace, darkness brought to me tranquility,
Sanctuary, free of all the hate pursuing me
Silence I’ve long coveted, greedy I indulge
Sooths me, fills me, drowning me to depths

She walks fierce unto the sanctum of my heart
Sunk her teeth deep in to me, rushed plasma
Seeps through lacerations, enthused to be free

Silent she drinks, blood drooling her lips of bale
Serenity crowned her face, curiously festive requiem
Solemn as I peer through her eyes valises

Softly, gentle I tasted from the oozing rich, red-
Sangria of her lips, exquisite, the craving festered
Sweet as nectar of gods, soon no other may ever

Satisfy me, here amid darkness I’d found my
Sunshine, her shine, a gift of life to dead eyes
Shimmered ecstasy, yet a detectable trace of volatility
Shattering through my cynically aching mind, her

Sultry skin, flesh as velvet, found myself far too
Submissive to its every need, to its mere heave,
Sheer as the gown wearing her silhouette was her heart,

Shadows grew longer, uneasy wore the air
Stench of death brushed sand and soil of the realm
Slivering hiss of a thousand and one pestilent
Snakes, moment witness to my fleeting sanity, for

Simple he’d taken me, baiting me with ecstasy, I
Sift my pockets thoroughly to find a sharp blade,
Smiled as I turned and faced the imposter, rage

Soaring to smolder, rendered her a parting kiss
Sheath flea from the blade as I unveiled her,
Shrieks of her agony played a melody to me
Sharp, the blade swiftly replaced flesh with maladies

Scorned, left alive, so she may watch me feed
Sneering, she cried, a bit ascertained, I tactfully
Segmented her torso, repent, remorse teary eyes,

Seized the moment, abrupt I cutout her heart,
Sinister, the grin of perception, well fed as I
Savored the taste and smell, prior to devouring,
Sucking on her gentle heart, I walked away.
