PoetryDiscuss knowledge in the The Pen forums; i boil over with anguish
so sick of how others treat me

...
i boil over with anguish
so sick of how others treat me
they just don't understand
even tho i know that they care
they've never been a cutter
or abused by a parent
or forced to grow up fast
at the age of sixteen
i should have grey hair by now
hobbling along with my knarled cane
far too old and wise for my young years
they aren't pointed at in the halls for
being different
i smile and bear it tho my soft heart
is torn to shreds
they think life is perfect, all sweet and grand
i laugh inwardly because i know the truth
its not just a nightmare; rape, abuse, hobos...
all exist
however, they all turn away while i watch a sunset
its beauty shining thru all the evil
have they ever opened their blind eye to experiece
life for what it is?
they will, they all will...someday
for once, i beg them, experience love
go thru the process of heartbreak and the healing process
and the will to brush yourself off and attempt to find that
amazing feeling again
travel the world, i tell them, see how other people live
whether it be in mansions or in grass huts
strip yourself of all civility and become a savage, running beside a jaguar who stops to rest only when she tires
don't live in a fantasy world, i tell them, experience the real world and revel in its raw, dangerous beauty
i have years upon years ahead of me, yet already my life seems halfway over
and with this knowledge, i feel so lost and alone

Absolutely wonderful, I love your poem very much. I can relate completely and I hope to read more of your poetry....
...Do not be so concerned with humanity, the flame shall burn in nine years, the heat will open their hearts, and humanity will then know what it is like...to shed a tear...

“The night has a thousand eyes, and the day but one….Yet the light of the bright world dies…with the dying sun. The mind has a thousand eyes, and the heart but one…Yet the light of a whole life dies…when love is done…- Francis W. Bourdillon

a girl curls up, lying naked in the rain
she cries tears of blood tho no one knows why
a small child reaches out to gently touch her shoulder
the girl looks at the child, curious as to why the child cares
while strangers avoid her as she lies dying on the sidewalk
you and i have lead the same life, the chid tells the girl,
we have both experienced the ignorance of society
and felt its hatred, stinging at our backs
the girl smiles, for the first time in her tortured life,
at the child who looks so naive yet knows so much
all at once, the girl's soul is released from its human
shell of bondage
free at last of pain and torment, she grows wings that
lift her up toward that palace in the sky
the child looks upward at the warm, glowing light as the spirit is set free and smiles back
