I had intended to generate some critical commentary. But it seems that it is not to be. I'm going to edit out the poem-post shortly so that there will be no reason to leave this topic on the board.

nah, don't do that....your problem is you didn't get the criticism you wanted, so you got upset....why? many of us don't....hell, i've been in seminars with 25+ peeps and only had like 5 or so say anything about work.......what about the other 20?!.....but, so be it....silence is criticism as well.....just because you didn't get what you thought you'd get, don't take it to heart.......and don't pussy out and give up.....post something else.....we will read it, we will give you our opinions on it.....

i usually criticize very well...i love critiquing peoples work....but your first piece just wasn't something i was really into, so i didn't have much to say......plus, it wasn't actually a form of poetry.....it was more of a piece of prose writing more suited for the literature section.......but, don't get all "i quit" on us just because you didn't get the responses you were seeking....itz writing, itz art, stuff like this is bound to happen.....accept it, love it, and continue on......

Silence in my experience is either one of two things.

1. "I have no idea how I should react to this so I better not say anything."

or

2. "I don't like it but I don't want to get into a fight over it so I'm not going to say anything."

yeah....so, there you go....silent criticism.....now, please, get over it and move on.....you acting as if silence is the end of the world....i've dealt with more silent criticism than you'll ever believe....did i take it to heart, did i get pissed? no....i actually thanked them, cuz silence speaks loud and clear

look, i don't mean to be a bitch, or sound like a dick, but you said you wanted to be a writer....yes?! now, listen to me, i've been writing for years.....and you got one critical response you didn't like, and you're taking it to heart....i've dealt with this shit for years.....look, ok, y'know that story of mine, um, under "i'm a sick fuck"....the first paragraph, this chick in one of my seminars wrote "I quit reading right here".....thatz all she wrote on it....i got another that said "You're a very horrible person".....i once had someone suggest a good pyschiatrist.......these go way beyond silent criticism, as they are personal attacks....but did i get upset? did i quit? no! i smiled and went and got myself a cappucino.......this shit will happen man, deal with it....all part of being a writer.....what you don't do, is give up, or sulk, or bitch.....it just shows your immaturity and lack of experience as a writer/artist......this shit happens, accept it and move on....

hell, and i agree, i've posted several poems and stories here in the past that no one replied to....and yes, you inwardly feel like shit....but that didn't stop me......
