Yeppers need cable for Online... I have Cable High Speed and it works great for EQ... though I have taken a break from EQ.... been playing HOMM IV which is a really good game...

Phantasy Star 4 is the greatest RPG for the Sega Genesis and a must play. A good RPG for Playstation is Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, is obscure but a good one.

That I can readily name:
Played and beaten: FFIX (PS1), FFX (PS2), Phantasy Star 4 (Sega), Shining in the Darkness (Sega), Shining Force (Sega), Shining Force II (Sega), Illusion of Gaia (SNES), Secret of Evermore (SNES). Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Secret of the Silver Blades, Pools of Darkness, Champions of Krynn, Death Knights of Krynn, Dark Queen of Krynn, Gateway to the Savage Frontier, Treasures of the Savage Frontier (all PC, available in one package).
Played, not yet beaten: FFVII (PS1), FFVIII (PS1), Breath of Fire 3 (PS1), Legend of the Dragoon (PS1), Wild Arms II (PS1).
I'll add more when I remember them. I also have several roms.
Ooh, how could I have forgotten. The Ultima series. I've beaten Exodus, Quest of the Avatar, and VI (the Gargoyle one). VI is available for free download online (abandonware).
Betrayal at Krondor. Got it for my B-day YEARS ago. Great game, and abandonware now (was released for free to promote Betrayal in Antara, which I own, but I don't think is as good a game, though better graphics, etc. Return to Krondor is also great).
The entire Quest for Glory series.

You should seriously finish FF7 SirVLCIV I'd have to say it has the best storyline of any RPG I've ever played and it's still rated as the best FF RPG ever...

As well it should be....I think the ff series are becoming more interactive movies now....I like rpgs better when they have only a few movie sequences..............That's the reason I love Xenogears.......It's my favorite rpg........IT had snime instead of the movies ...and it took me forever to beat.....I'd never play it again though.....

the only reason Xenogears didnt have more movies was because they DID choose to use anime cutscenes... they had to switch formats and carry the programs for converting and playing the images on top of the games where as most prerenders make use of the graphics macros already in place... or so this was explained to me by a programmer...

I loved how they did it though...I like how there wasn't a shit load of movie scenes....I liked it that way....But when they did show a movie scen I loverd how they actually had the characters voices.
In my perspective I think it's the best rpg I have played.

I love Legend of Dragoon because it is a "real" RPG (with turn-based battle, the only kind I like), but also requires quick reflexes (the additions).
I'm on the third disk; I'll finish this first, then FFVIII, then FFVII (I'm almost done with the third disk of VIII, on the first in VII).
