My prompt was that I recently went to another forum to exchange some programming info when I got a pop-up (JS alert) saying "This Site has been optomized for internet explorer, please use Internet Explorer."

I was pissed, so out came this thread...

Well, in Linux, the text seems a little small by default...

There is a reason people bash Winblows, there must be something wrong with over-priced, insecure, unstable, and buggy, (to name a few) operating systems.

I use IE for web-development, when I'm checking for cross-browser stuff,
but someday IE will be no-more...

All software has bugs, but that's no reason not to bash shitty software like IE

I use IE, but I've had my friends pressing me to get firefox. What the hell is that anyway?

A stable browser with a built in Google toolbar/popup blocker thing. You can open sites in different tabs in the same window instead of endless different windows.

crim loves her firefox. she still has the spyware and awfulness on her laptop that IE let in. bad bad.

THe BEST thing about FireFox, in my opinion, is the Wed-Development Tool Bar,
it's fucking great!

Agreed. Being able to edit CSS on-the-fly to solve CSS problems is a godsend. Plus the validation menu, which can only encourage standards-complaint, accessible coding. It's made my job so much easier.

The only down to Mozilla is all the plug-ins you have to download. Still it is by far the best option.

The plugins are optional,
they're extensions.

On linux I need to install a macromedia plugin, automatic.
But on Winblows, it's already there.

But I can see where that could be considered a "down"
