Avidly? No, I read a good couple of books, school books, collectiosn of case studies, etc., but nothing to qualify me to be experienced in the least. However, you don't need to be an expert to know this. It's not just a personal opinion. Any psychologist will attest to this, all of mine did. The human mind is too complex for A+B=C. Many people who were beaten as children have deep psychological issues, but not all of them. In fact there's a good portion of people where that's not the case.
A lot of people who are rapped as children become nymphs and sexual promiscuous. Others shut down completely and don't even like to be touched.

They have this one really stupid test to check what your overall perspective on life is, where you are given an assortment of colors to make a drawing with. Most of the colors are pretty obvious, black is unhappy, brighter colors mean a brighter outlook, etc. But no one puts a lot of stock into this, it's just one test that "might" work.

Apply that to music. A lot of people who listen to happy music listen to it because they're happy people. Other, more depressed people, might listen to it because it fulfills something missing in their lives. This can go in any direction you take it, because, I reiterate, nothing in psychology is written in stone.

but me, my nickname is "Teddy Bear" because all my friends (none of which, listen to what i listen to) all say i look really mean and bad-ass, but am actually like "want a glass of water, or something to eat? how about a hug?!"....i'm very caring, and fun, and happy, but am also RAWR!!!!!

oh no you didn'! im gay, but im not into the "briteny spears" or the "n of sync"...i listen to techno, but mostly jungle, ambient, or industrial (techno u have to have a gay card to buy sickens me)...i also took hip hop dance for 7 years. i do love to dance, but normally 2 jungle, and i don't dance like most ravers, cause im not one. my favorite band of all time is Portishead ( kinda like acid jazz if ya aren't familiar)...but more than anything, i listen to metal/hardcore (spaz, grind, metalcore, little emocore, etc.). death and black metal is ok, but kinda irks me and feels kinda empty. i also played tenor sax in a jazz band for 7 years and appreciate classical ...what does this say about me..can you look at my baggy pants, tight shirt, pleather straps, flaming homosexuality, intellectually passive agressive with upmost confidence personality and tell that i did all this???

Sorry, I didn't read this thread, but I tell you what I listen to, and you tell me a stereo-type. And its all wrong. I listen to death metal(Metallica, Slayer), black metal(Bathory, Burzum), blues(BB King, Muddy waters), classic rock(Pink Floyd, Sabbath, CCR), and even whatever you wnt to consider Tom Waits as. No matter what I say I listen to, you WILL NOT, be able to tell me anything about me.

When I think about Bluesmen a special kindness and warmth enter into my heart.I can not imagine Bluesmen to be cruel or ugly.For me they bring joy and happiness.Sometimes I imagine Bluesmen as kind plum men with beard and cool hats.

"electronica" doesn't mean anything anymore. There's too many damn genres for electronic music to be lumped into anything other than "electronic music." For instance, I'm a big fan of illbient, ambient, trip-hop, dark ambient, some deep house, and a lot of other mellowed-out kinds of electronic music, but when people say "electronica," everyone thinks, "YAAAAY CHEMICAL BROTHERS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
