so itz finally over......are you happy? sad? does your life feel complete?

anyway.....who saw the new one? did they like it or hate it? i liked it, thought it was better than the other new ones that have been coming out, but take into consideration that i'm not an uber-hardcore star wars fan.....now my buddy, who is an uber-hardcore star wars fan, absolutely hated it....said it was by far the worse of the whole saga.....reason bein', is the new one is slighty un-star-wars-ish.......like the lil' things: the fact that in the other ones R2D2 needs a crane thingy to lift him and out of the ships, but in this one he just springs right out with no problem.....but there were some other lil' things here and there as well which even i noticed, but my buddy basically said that if you're hardcore into star wars you prolly won't like it......

but i dunno.....i didn't think it was too bad.....i thought Anakin's switch to the dark-side was a lil' far-fetched, but acceptable.....but some things just seemed out of place in the star wars saga.....whatcha think?

I agree that the new episodes weren't great as the first 3 movies,i haven't seen revenge of the sith,but i think the phantom menace was by far the worse of all.

It barely had anything to do with the original story line,not to mention the retarded characters they spewed out.
I'm not hardcore star wars fan either but the thing that really pissing me off was Anakin.
Darth Vader is a so called legend among cinema characters,for some people he's one of the most evil movie villain.
In the original first movie,you can see him ready to destroy anyhing in his path,choke people when they fail him,completly heartless and tried several times to kill his two kids (not to mention he sliced off his son's hand).
In the phanthom menace you can see him as some full loving idiotic child,owned as a slave by a flying creature that came straight out of a disney cartoon.
In the attack of the clones you can see him as the average angry teenager MTV skaterboi pop idol ready to spray his pants everytime when Natalie Portman is in the same scene.
Why couldn't they make Anakin more darker or atleast don't make him look like a crybaby wimp with pussy lines like these:

"When I'm around you, my mind is no longer my own."

Anakin;"You love me? I thought we had decided not to fall in love. That we'd be forced to live a lie and that it would destroy our lives."

Sounds more like a line coming from a 'full house' episode.

the scenes were short and the acting was horrible. but blame Lucas for that one. Ewan McGregor, Samual L. Jackson and Natalie Portman. I love them all, they are amazing actors, but even THEY could not make this work.

Hayden Christiansen cannot act. Not really. He's just pretty to look at and can pose well.

And the camera angles. GOD!! Why the close-ups during the fights? Would it have killed them to pan out or at least take a step or two back? I wanna know what I'm looking at.

But the movie was not without it's merits. They even brought back Jame Earl Jones! His delivery was bad too, though.

But everything else looked great. The CGI, the settings and the costumes. It may not be the best Star Wars (that title goes to Empire Strikes Back), but at least it wasn't the worst. *coughPHANTOM-MENACEcough*

I liked this one. Mostly just because of the hilarity of most of it.

I felt like it more closely resembeld the first three. It was pretty, with bad acting.

Nah, story's over, thats it folks, no more movies(thank god, if you only knew what came out for a spin-offesq star wars movie, after Jedi) However there are talks about an animated series bridging the gap between 3 and 4

Lemme 'splain. I LOVE STAR WARS. I've obsessed over the movies since I was 4 years old. Star Wars everything: sheets, shirts, action figures, books, posters, video games, pez dispensers, etc. My brother bought me the books that dissect the weapons and vehicles used in the movie. I have the alien guide. I play/played Star Wars RPG for like... ever, man.

No self-respecting Star Wars fan should like Revenge of the Sith. It's not Star Wars. It's not on that level. It reminded me of a much-hyped, substance-free, made-for-tv movie that should have aired on Sci-Fi channel. It just goes to show that all the fancy special effects in the world can't carry a crap movie.

IT HAD SO MANY HOLES IN THE STORYLINE. I thought it felt rushed and hurried and totally out of whack. Fuck that movie, man. I cried.

I dunno. When it comes out on DVD and I can rent and watch it for a couple bucks, I'll let you know.

Incidentally, Star Wars began and ended with Episodes IV, V, and VI. Lucas can go live on Skywalker Ranch and never get near a film studio for as long as he lives, for all I care.

I enjoyed the movie. The cheesey Star Wars dialogue, the awesome lightsaber fights (they zoomed in a bit close at first, but then they let me see it so I'm happy), the kick-ass spacefights, the darkness of the whole story. It felt like a mature Star Wars, and I was more than happy to welcome it.

I thought that the Wookie battle was too short, as was the fight between Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous (who was an interesting show of things to come with Darth Vader). Also, that ending fight scene and Vader screaming up at Obi-Wan... chilling. It was pretty sweet.

Hacked off hands, hole-fillers for the other ones, hacked off heads, hacked off legs, no Ewoks, and only one Gungan. What's not to like? I was happy as a sci-fi guy can be, I guess.

Gotta admit the dialogue and acting was crap,but the movie was alot better than the first two.

Well, sort of. As with all of the films, a novelization always comes out corresponding to the films. In the novelization of The Empire Strikes Back, Obi-Wan tells Luke about Anakin, "We fought... your father fell into a molten pit. When your father clawed his way out of that fiery pool, the change had been burned into him forever--he was Darth Vader, without a trace of Anakin Skywalker.

The books are never as good as the movies and are frequently innacurate about the things happened on screen and in the past.
