I don't think I get the idea of this. Is it really the musician/band's fault if they are "discovered?" I can think of a lot of bands that people loved until they "sold out." Just because people like their music doesn't mean that they're suddenly a terrible, evil thing upon this earth. It just means that their doing something right. Could someone please explain to me why it's such a big deal when a band "sells out?" I don't think I understand it, except in the cases of bands like Limp Bizkit.
Hey, bread is a good time for me...a-woodle-oo-doo, singing bread is a good time for EVERYbody...

The only way a person or band can TRULY sell out is if they are making and playing music they don't like just to put food on the table. It has NOTHING to do with signing to a label or being played on the radio. Period. I am sick and tired of snot-nosed, pre-pubescent little fucks who know jack shit about the music industry telling me who has and who has not sold out. I have sacrificed money, time, and relationships for my band and my music for years. I know first hand the hardships abd headaches that go along with being an unsigned band. I have lived off of bread and water, just to have enough money to purchase second-hand equipment, and I would spit in the face of any asshole who would dare tell me I sold out if I signed to a label. It is always easy to critize from the sidelines. Few have what it takes to finish the race.
