does anyone know who is playing at rock fest cause all i know is static-x is there and i am so fucking excited that there going to be there cause they are my favorite band......

I have reasons I hate Static X, many of them.

why.......whats wrong with them.....

For one thing Wayne Static thinks he's gothic and still plays with RAPPERS of all people. Second, their music has gotten consistantly worse. Three, they don't play their own intruments when they preform. Four, they're nu metal.

im not much into the rap its about there hardcore.....i love hardcore and industrial like slipknot, ill nino, dope, static-x, dry kill logic, powerman 5000, mushroomhead, stuff like that......

I enjoy Static X. I'm trying to get tickets to see them this week actually.

I would take you Static but I'm having trouble getting tickets for myself. Hopefully it'll work out. Anyway, the only other band I know playing Rock Fest is Soulfly. Do you like them? I saw them at Ozzfest one year and they were pretty good.

Creed and Static together? That's a disgrace. But you never know I suppose. It just seems unlikely that Creed would be at Rock Fest. That whole Christian rock thing doesnt fit in. And plus didnt the lead singer get in a car accident or something? I could be wrong. I don't really follow news on Creed.

Musicians should be able to play whatever they want, write whatever they want, sound however they want to, play with whomever they want to, and be whomever they want to. End of story. I fucking hate people who blame musicians for having freedom. SD:LFKJSLDFKJSLD. I never back down from playing something I like.

And yeah, I like some of Static-X's stuff. I like WDT more than Machine, but eh....

Musicians should, aka ARTISTS. Not performers who want fame and money. Not people who decide it's fun to kill some one eles's work.... Not people who use music only as a stepping stone to great things in their mind. People who LIKE music for what it is have that right.

Were you not the one who said you hated Wayne Static because he claims to be goth, yet plays with rappers? What if he likes rap? Is that not allowed? Well, Antihero, get pissed because I have some more to say and I have ways to back this up, even if it's just through another member who knows more about music than you do... at least about genres pertaining to music and subcultures. Bear in mind, I was raised in a family of metal heads. So yeah, metal is something I know alot about.

Think about it, why would a band that could easily make the jump to mainstream, not do it? Is there any reason you can think of. Don't you think, that since there are people who hate the radio and MTV and bands played on either, that there would be bands played on either? Most of the bands with that mindset remaining ARE metal. Metal is no longer for the poor kid who really wants to be on the football team but for some reason couldn't be, it's not for the kid who BEAT UP the football team.... Even though the football team listens to "metal"

Bassically, yes I listen to some mainstream shit (the only bands I usually list in here) but if you pay attention really closely you will learn that most of the mainstream music I listen to came before punk. Punk, then later grunge (remeber, I know more than just mainstream grunge) rewrote the way rock politics function. After those two subcultures, there became a deffenate line between mainstream and underground... or at least bands that TRIED to stay hidden and stayed true to their music.

So here we are today, two sides to take. One or the other. Mainstream or underground. One or the other. There's nothing wrong with choosing mainstream, just stay away from the underground is all I'm saying. Static X, Slipknot, Ill Nino, Papa Roach, System of a Down, all of those bands... their nu metal, and the equivelent to pop punk. They're doing to exact same thing that Blink 182, Green Day, and Sum 41 did.

Static, I was trying to help you out.... that and you did something that pissed me off, alot. But I was more trying to help you, give you some insight from a real metal head. Sorry if I sound like a bitch, but like I said, I grew up in a family of metal heads.

i know where you are coming from and you have a different taste in music just like i do....i like anything that i can rock out to, handbang too, mosh pit too....anything that is worth listening to....i grew up with a family that listen to oldies now how sad is that....but anyway thanks for the help....i do understand where you are coming from and i am sorry if i pissed you off i dont remember what i said to piss you off anyway....

I'm glad you can see where I'm coming from.... The problem comes when you start listening to the music I do. I'd explain but that would take too long. Anyway.... I don't like big show moshes and there is a reason. Most people who last through those, however, don't in a local show.... Bassically because the entire pit will gang up on them for acting like it is a stadium show. What you did to piss me off is put the underground and less mainstream bands on the same level as the mainstream bands. Like I said, listen to mainstream, but don't get confused. We don't appriciate you at our shows and we don't appcriate you listening to our music. You have your and we have ours. It's as simple as that.

The really, really scary part is that those last two sentences are almost verbatim what I heard a White Power metal musician say concerning one of their gigs two years ago... (not an accusation by the way.)

Otherwise I see where you're coming from with your second to last post. I don't really see why metal can't be for both the kid who couldn't make the football team and the guy who beat up the football team, but otherwise...
