So i got a new (used ) harddrive. Much bigger than i had before.. So i go and install XP, openoffice, F-Secure, nero, you know, the normal start junk.. Do all the updates, and this happens!

No matter what page i goto, it shows it in B&W! well, links are blued.. and the little smileys are red.. But even now, on any of the skins here, all the background is white?!! WTF??!?!?!

and my question of the day is-- How do i fix it?

hmm, you update your video drivers?

First you fucked up by getting a "used" hard drive.

Second don't use a fucking microsoft product contol the world browser like IE. (For you newbs IE=Internet Explorer)

Third get Mozilla Firefox from http://getfirefox.com

If firefox doesn't fix your problems check your display and security settings for your browser of choice. I still suggest Firefox but whatever its your crappy choice if you still stick w/ microsofts dictatorship of the world.

I'd say update your video card if all of your graphics look like that. If it's just what you're looking at on the web, then I'll second Panthera's advice. I live and swear by Mozilla Firefox. IE is only good for those very few stubborn pages that don't let you log into things with Mozilla, and that's because Mozilla disables ActiveX controls for security reasons. No wierd scripts adding spyware and trojans. Bottom line, it's a more solid and secure browser. I get an occasional popup, but for the most part I get virtually none.

All my web pages show with a white background.. Dunno why, they just do!

All my games and other programs that I've re-installed are working fine. colors and all.. even when i open their websites they are fine (on IE i must add ).

It seems if i just go straight from desktop icon to the web, i get the white background.. And i've re-installed IE to be sure it's not that..

OH, and for $40.00 a 120 gig HD was a deal.. even used! It did come with a warranty as well HEH!

Quick using IE, that's probably your problem- use firefox. Stop being so stubborn.

maybe you've got a missing plugin- I don't know- have you restarted your computer. Check everthing out.

Another thought...you running XP? Unfortunately I have Win98, and first edition at that. So I'm rather stupid and clueless when it comes to XP. I helped a friend build a new computer yesterday and he's running XP. He calls me last night with somewhat of a similar problem, the graphics looked like crap but only in his mozilla window. Apparently if you right-click the mozilla icon on your desktop you can piss around with some color quality and screen resolution settings. Interesting, because that's not available to me on my win98. But it is for him on XP. His were set to some crappy settings by default, maybe that's your problem too. He fixed it by just somehow disabling all of that with some option in there entirely and forcing it to default to the same settings he had the rest of his resolution settings set to within windows its self. Not sure exactly what since I wasn't there and was only on the phone with him, but maybe you've got that option too and can piss around with it.

Haha going to Firefox to fix the problem that is lame. I hate firefox.
