Is going to blow away every movie this year and next... the critics are already saying its an Oscar winner and it hasnt even fucking been released yet... my girlfriend and i are SO pumped for this one!!!

It will rock, to be sure. But do not let it overshadow the important event of this week: Dawson's Creek Season 2 on DVD TO-NIEEET.

LOL.... all the showings on the first night are already sold out here...... which is okies... I am going to see it on Thursday......

I don't think second season will be as good as say fourth season, which is a huge montage of Pacey/Joey true love and angst, but it's still going to be great because it's fucking impossible to find second season episodes on Kazaa. It's true...this DVD event is going to rock our faces.

That said, the theatrical release of Return of the King is a day I've waited for my entire life. It's my understanding that it TOTALLY ROCKS IN EVERY WAY, but I'm waiting to see how much of my personal favorite moments they included. I'm really hoping they don't dwell too much on Sam and Frodo through the movie, besides the scenes with Cirith Ungol, Shelob, and the Crack of Doom. Really all they do is just suffer, so a few glimpses here and there can just reassure the audience that Sam and Frodo are indeed still miserably slogging through the hellish terrain of Mordor. It's the Merry Brandybuck (and Pippin!) glory I'm looking for!

i've got my tickets for tomorrow night, can't wait.

I wonder if anything so fulfilling can ever happen to me again after seeing this film.

Wait, nevermind. The extended cut is coming out next year.

I saw it just now, its the BEST film ive ever seen in my life!!!! and i would NEVER say that about anything ever... but i say it for this... this is an EASY 5 oscar winner!!!!!! HOLY SHIT THAT WAS A PPHENOMINAL FUCKING FILM!

I TRIED to find a reason for why it wasnt amazing.. the only thing i came up with is that Sauron never gets remade, but then that was unreasonable to expect in the 1st place, it was FUCKING AMAZING!!!

all the women were crying in the theatre, gotta admit i got misty eyed several times too.... fucking awsome..

The only things I found not perfect:

-Eowyn and Merry not laid up nearly long enough after slaying witch king of Angmar; also, they ride to the black gate with the host of Gondor despite not doing this in the book. I suspect that their grave illnesses and narrow escapes from death will be given more attention in the extended cut, though, so I'm not too worried. The only reason I disliked this anyway is that I think it cheapens their battle with the King of the Nazgul somewhat by making it look as though it was something from which they bounced back quickly.

-Eowyn's dwimmerlaik speech not included verbatim. This is ok, though. It'll just take some getting used to for me.

-Wish Pippin had been pinned under a troll only to be found later by Gimli.

I'm looking forward to the extended cut so much, since I suspect Merry will have a good deal more screen time there. The trailers showed him on one knee swearing fealty to Theoden, and I've seen stills of him receiving his sword from Theoden as well, so I assume that their very dynamic friendship and Theoden's fascination with the halflings will be given its due in the extended version.

My personal favorite thing was how much screen time Pippin got, as he is my favorite character (very, very, very closely followed by Merry) and always has been. I was terribly worried that he would be short on screen time and that I'd have to just drink in the few scenes of him I could catch, but the film delivered so thoroughly that the only thing I can complain about is that I feel a little guilty Merry didn't have more going on. I was very concerned that they wouldn't do anything with Pippin and the palentir, but was extremely happy to see that I was not disappointed.

Favorite film moments:

-Elrond's incredibly heartbreaking expression as he stands behind Arwen at King Elessar's coronation. I don't think I've ever seen someone look so bittersweet as Hugo Lofting did at that moment.

-Pippin and Merry bid each other a hasty and sad farewell as Gandalf prepares to take Pippin to Minas Tirith.

-Pippin's song voiceover during Faramir's suicide charge - was so worried they might not include this from the soundtrack!

-Pippin catches the bouquet at Sam and Rosie's wedding - enjoyed this very much. I am curious whether the girl next to him was meant to be Diamond of Long Cleeve.

-Merry creeps up and stabs the witch king of Angmar.

-Sam defeats Shelob but accidentally leaves his Mr. Frodo for dead.

-The host of Mordor is surprised when three enemies are backed by hordes of massive undead.

Shit, who am I kidding? I fiercely loved everything about it. It filled me with the same bittersweet sadness that I was left with the first time I finished the trilogy, about ten years ago. It's hard to fight off that feeling of "Well, what now?"

Very Awesome. Can't wait to buy the box set.

And I have yet to see it. I have this thing about sitting next to people in movie theaters. I don't do it. I hate it. I have to have a seat separating my royalness from the common man. So I'm waiting until after the first of the year. That way less people will attend.

I'm not going to get to see it until Sunday...my girlfriend's seen it already, she was raving about it today. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the Witch King, as well as how they handle the things with the Palintiri - such as the one from Orthanc, and the one that Denethor used...

Its too bad PJ didn't even film the Scouring of the Shire...that's probably the only thing I can be mad about with this.

I liked it a lot, my only problem is that the first 2 hours seemed like 30 minutes, and the last hour seemed like 4 days. I really didn't enjoy the ending much at all.

I really dug this movie, but I think I prefer The Two Towers just a bit.

Pippen's song was great indeed, the llok on his face at the end was really good.
I must say that Aragorn singing also had something special to me.. I can't wait to see it again!!

Alas, the glory of the theatrical release makes me burn to see the extended cut that much more. I was rather disappointed that I didn't get to hear the word "dwimmerlaik" used by Eowyn in her speech to the Witch King, ah well.
