I'm I the only person on this planet who thinks this band is never ending and constantly reinventing themselves to perfection? I'm surprised they don't get much more recognition. One more question. You're watching a stage play. A banquet is in progess. The guests are enjoying an appetizer of raw oysters. The entree consists of boiled dog.

Well, I dunno what gh3y means......but I do agree.
One of the best live bands on the planet. Their newest full length "The Godless Endevour" is excellent...and stands apart from all their previous albums.
Great band, under-rated....but I doubt they care either way. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Gay? Really? what do you listen to, that qualifies Nevermore as gay? One more question. You're watching a stage play. A banquet is in progess. The guests are enjoying an appetizer of raw oysters. The entree consists of boiled dog.

I have one of their albums, not sure which one. I just never got into it. It bores me. The music is to dry, and seems to follow that form of nu-metalcore (or whatever genre they are), but seems weak. Like, musically speaking, they just sound...weak. And the singers voice annoys me. I can't really explain it, but that also just has to do with my taste in metal...which falls into death metal, black metal, dark wave, prog-goth, nu-goth, etc. etc. etc. I mean, my favorite band is ACID BATH...to me, I like my "metal" rough, harsh, yet musically talented. Like Acid Bath, Ram-Zet, Scarve, Dog Fashion Disco (if you consider them metal)...but a lot of it also has to do with the fact that I play multiple instruments, love jazz, and have a pretty damn good comprehension of music for having studied it for a few years. I mean, from what I've heard of Nevermore, their drummer is very boring, keeping simple beats that follow his slow-downed double-bass...the guitars don't aim for peculiar scales or key changes and rarely stray from that simplistic nu-metal sound, and aren't very melodic. And the singer sounds like he can't decide if he's from the underground metal 80's or mid 90's...

I'd call Nevermore Thrash Metal.....with clean vocals. I certainly wouldn't call them metal-core...or whateverelsecore is popular right now.
I like rough music, brutal music, but I also like technially sound metal with some fucking good melodies. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

just not my kettle of metal... | What album did you listen to? "Dark Heart in a Dead World"? It has some of those attributes. They were around way before Nu metal hit the scenes. A year before Anthems by Emperor and a year after "Slaughter of the Soul" by At The Gates. They got really big in 1999 when they released "Dreaming Neon Black" which I consider their best album.
I admit, the first time I heard them, I didn't like it, but you really just have to get into them. They're more prog/thrash than anything and the lyrics are bad ass. "Dark Heart in a Dead World" ,IMO,is their worst album. It is dry and bland and I thought for a while, they couldn't top Dreaming Neon Black, but I was wrong. Enemies of reality came close, but "his Godless Endeavor' holds more than a flame. I would consider themg psychedelic/prog/thrash. His singing is a little annoying at first, but the passion it holds is worth it. Reminds a lot of Judas PRiest's "Sad Wings"
It's well worth IMO. One more question. You're watching a stage play. A banquet is in progess. The guests are enjoying an appetizer of raw oysters. The entree consists of boiled dog.

i dunno what album it is...songs from it are: Create the Infinite, Enemies of Reality, I Voyager...
and nu-metal has been around since the early/mid-90's...if, you want to consider Marilyn Manson, Korn, and what have you as nu-metal....metal genres are so annoying... I was masturbating

I always thought Korn was a type of hardcore and manson was shock rock. It's those penises that think Slipknot has talent. They're the ones that coined it. I never heard the term before; they started destroying metal by ripping off Morbid Angel and people thought it was talent. One more question. You're watching a stage play. A banquet is in progess. The guests are enjoying an appetizer of raw oysters. The entree consists of boiled dog.

Slipknot actually does have talent. There's always someone who thinks a modern band has ripped off an older band; that's inevitable.. Perhaps all metal bands rip off Black Sabbath in some way, hm?
Slipknot isn't my favorite band, but I'm not going to say they suck because they have influences. Besides, of all the crap they're lumped in with these days, they look pretty good.

That's true, but some bands do it better than others. Slipknot isn't bad, their drummer is amazing, but overall they only have a few good songs. Now Morbid Angel on the other hand, now there's a band. And while we are talkin' about death metal, it pisses me off these days when peeps see my name in counter-strike (which, gayly, is morbid angel) and go "Nile > Morbid Angel" and blah, blah, blah. I'm not very familiar with Nile, but...I mean, are they really worth comparing? I mean, I wouldn't compare Six Feet Under with Macabre or with Sinister...it's all different styles of death metal. Heh, Nile is awesome, but yeah.... no point in comparing them. Morbid Angel is the shit, plain and simple. You should give Nile a listen!
