My very first comp (486, with4..YES 4 MB edoram) still works.

lately my parents were nagging about it going too slow n stuff so I uhm.. 'acquired' 4 slots of 8MB (..you heard it..going from 4 to 32, making it 8 times as big..try that you giganerds ). Anyway..I plugged them all in nicely and restarted my comp..

it did absolutely nothing

only when I put back the 4 mb slot it started to do the things it normally did..
something I found out while I was screwing around with where to plug the stupid things...the memory bank I never used (2-4) don't stay on..as if they're mode is stuck into being not there..

it may be like some pavillion models that require two equal ram sticks to be inserted...a few of the older models even shipped out with dummy ram to compensate for this requirement...

Ya sure that is EDO ram Oez? 486's mostly used Fastpage RAM. I got 2 sticks of Fastpage here if ya want 'm... 8MB in total.
