Anyway, errantrogue states that it's our responsibility to keep our children from watching television that shows contextual nudity. On the surface, that's a valid point. I would agree wholeheartedly if we were talking about cable television, pay channels, and the like. But network television: ABC, NBC, CBS has no business showing nudity, contextual or otherwise, AT ALL. Those are channels anyone can pick up with a set of rabbit-ears wrapped in tinfoil.

In today's modern world, where both parents often work away from the home, and kids are getting housekeys at younger and younger ages.. it's difficult to monitor every moment of your child's time. That's probably not the greatest way of parenting, but it's a necessary evil. My mom worked 70 hours a week to support 2 kids on her own. I had a housekey when I was 7. We have the FCC for a reason. There have to be some standards implemented on free television stations.

Kids cant take them out. I tried taking out a sex book when I was 12 or 13 once and they wouldnt let me because it contained nudity and talked about explicit sexual acts.

What about nude statues?

The average 5 year old has no concept of art. A nude statue would be little more than something to point and laugh at, then ask their parents what that dangling banana thing is.

Not to mention a nude statue isnt the same as a human.
