I've been given a V.I.P. invite to 'The Misfits' gig in Durham on the 16th of Sept and I'm wondering if anyone here is either a fan of them or going to the night.

I'm gonna try and see what I can blag from the night and get a few shots of them and stuff and was wondering if anyone would be interested in the stuff seeing as it's not really my thing (I'm going along to help someone out).

Bullets a great song. Danzigs Misfits were good American Horror Punk. The new Misfits kinda stink.

The newer Jerry Only ran misfits work is really bad. They had a good lp when only put it back together first, american psycho. Its not worth buying but its worth downloading from an anynomomous free website.

However, 1977-1983 plus the samhain years 1984-86 are in my opinion some of the best horror/punk/whatthefuckeveryoucallit music i've heard.

i like the new Misfits....old Misfits are kool too, but i really despise Danzig.....

nonetheless, The Misfits....by far the worst concert i ever been too.....i'm not punk, but Misfits have always had a few fans from the metal scene, but anywho, so the show, the lineup was: Jerry Only (bass, vox); um, the drummer from the Ramones (puke!); and this guitarist from Black Flag, Anti-Black Flag? i dunno........but that was it.....and it sucked!!!! they were horrible, and this guy tried to steal my wallet, so my friend stabbed him with his keys, and all the punks were goin' apeshit, and there was this really fugly girl standin' next to me screamin' the entire time, and i made the mistake of bein' up front so i kept gettin' squished against the railin' and i couldn't move.......i did get to touch Jerry Only though.....

as for the club, it's pretty popular in Cincy.....perhaps the "place to play" for such acts.....hell, even Sublime gave them "props" on one of their albums.....but anywho, it's an interesting place....i've had many experiences there......i got beat up at the GWAR concert (score!) and i also lost my shoe there......and durin' the Coal Chamber / Type-O-Negative concert, my girlfriend at the time got splattered with some dudes blood.......and a friend of mine got stabbed with an ice-pick at a different Misfits concert there......and i passed a dead guy on the street on the way to Stabbing Westward (my friend who got stabbed with the ice pick actually watched the man die)......go Bogarts!

Well I'm off to see them tomorrow night, got my earplugs on standby and not sure what my V.I.P. status will get me, but if I do get anything I'll be putting it up for grabs...

I hate the Misfits, even the old Misfits, which is weird because I'm a huge Danzig fan. To me, his best work started in the 90s.
