Alright this one requires knowledge of linux, more specifically SuSe linux 10.0 Alright I bought myself a computer I figure $50 for a 3 year old used one ain't that bad. Thing is it has linux. I played around with it for a little while, and decided to keep it( is this thing a pet or what?) Anyways we just got cable internet, but the damn thing won't connect Its hooked up through ethernet, and from what I have researched thus far I need to configure the DHCP but for the life of me, I can't figure out how .

hmm, you can set up DHCp in one of two ways. 1: through the terminal window, and the other I believe that Suse has it's own setup for network connections. It'sbeen a while since I used Suse that i can't remember what it is.

Are you using a router to access the net or is it just a direct connection to your system?

Ok, from what I have read, you must log in as root. open up YAST and look for the HTTP server. once you click on it, it should walk you through on how to set up your network connection.

One thing that is required with Linux...YOU MUST READ. and READ A LOT!!!! Not many people inthe linux community will help you out unless you spend some time and read up on what your getting into Each distro has a great deal of documentation on their websites and in their Distro's that are a big help.
