Desktop processors reached another milestone today with the release of Intel's 3.06GHz Pentium 4. Surpassing the 3GHz mark is significant--Intel's is the first chip to do so--but the new P4 represents more than just a jump in raw processing speed. The 3.06GHz P4 is also the first desktop chip to include Intel's new Hyper-Threading technology. Available in servers for more than a year now, Hyper-Threading allows a single processor to function as if it were two. The result is a processor that can run two parts of an application at once or multiple applications more efficiently.
Myea... I'm not really interested in GHzes... more in how many operations a CPU can do per second. AMD 2800+ kicks P4's ass imo... Not to mention the AMD "hammer" coming soon...

I invented a computer that can perform billions of simultaniouse equations at once and ran on quantum fluctuations...unfortunately i found it hard to wire a monitor up to a cup of tea so i just drank it.

yes...im being stupid...no need to flame....
Current videocards all support truecolor. The human eyes are physically uncapable of recognising beyond 24 bit color... So there's no real need to go beyond that.

Not always, but mostly. Monitors (CRT and TFT) are analog devices, theoretically capable of an infinity of shades. Practically, above 16 bit is harder to notice...

Yuppers. Supposedly there is a Radeon Card that is better than GeForce right now. Although GeForce is coming out with a better card than that really soon.
Digging my way deeper and deeper until I find a way out.

i sell both of those radeon cards, the 9500 and the 9700 PRO, both are claimed to be better than NVidia, but as you say, NVidia does have something up thier sleves
