Attended the H.I.M. concert this past monday. It was at a small venue in Cincy, which is always my favorite concert setting.

The opening bands (Finch and Skinery??<< something like that) were completely lame. Finch was to emo for me, the lead singer screamed into the mike incoherently, everyone was just standing there waiting to see H.I.M. The next band was a little better, they had some good moshing beats, the girl standing next to me took an elbow straight to the face. It was ok, I know the kids had to get the moshing out of them before H.I.M. came on (def. not a moshing band).

Now I am not the biggest H.I.M. fan, I actually just got into them a couple of months ago (thanks to my boyfriend). I havn't listened to their older cd's as much as their new release, Dark Light, and I really enjoy that album. I think it's one of the best I've heard this year. But I think Ville is fuckable hot, he reminds of a Jim Morrison/David Bowie mix. Plus he's European.

H.I.M. put on a great show, don't get me wrong, the music was banging, the fans were really into it. Everyone seemed into it, except for Ville. He pretty much had his back to the audience whenever he wasn't singing, he was completely fucked up on some type of drug, he joked with his bass player and pretty much ignored the audience. I just got the vibe from him that he wanted to get off the stage ASAP to go back to his bus to do more of whatever drug he was on or fuck some cute little girl he picked up backstage.


So ya it was a good concert, Ville Vallo is gorgeous, but I'm a little disenchanted with the band right now.

Eeeeeeeyuck........ I had never heard any of thier music until recently and I have to say that I just do not see why anyone likes thier stuff..... its very drab and boring.....

I can't stand H.I.M. Worst lyrics ever, and they're all about the same shit: I love yoooou I love yoooou let's diiiie let's diiiiie i loooove diiiie death looooove. I admit a couple songs are catchy, but jesus.... that guys voice makes my balls clamber up into my abdomen, especially when he does that fake whimpery inhale when he finishes a line.

Glad the show was good, though

okay, so this one time COF (back in '98) was at Bogarts, and i went......the show was meh, but somehow i got backstage and met the keyboardist (i forget his name)......we hit it off, one thing led to another, and before i knew it i was face down, bitin' on a pillow, my asshole been ravished like a proud, gay porn-star's.........and i named his lil' love-missle "Cradled in my filth"......i thought it was funny at the time, but he didn't seem to care.....he kicked me out and never called me again......sigh



no but seriously, Bogart's......i got beat up at the GWAR concert! i passed a dead guy in the street (the paramedics threw the sheet over his face) when i went to Stabbing Westward........my friend stabbed somebody (with his keys)who tried to steal his wallet durin' the Misfits (which was Jerry Only only, and some other punk icons)......my girlfriend got covered in some dudes blood durin' Type-O-Negative........and there's some other stories, but those are the most memorable......

Hmm... I've heard a few songs from H.I.M. and I've come to the following conclusion:

H.I.M. is to goth what Winger was to heavy metal.
