I hate them for a few reasons.
1. They suck. Especially now that they're essentially a Jane's Addiction cover band.
2. "Hey Man Nice Shot" was their one 'good' song. the rest of that album sucked real horrorshow. This isn't saying much considering HMNS is pretty much a note for note ripoff of Nine Inch Nails's "Burn"
3. I thought Hey Man Nice Shot sucked too.
4. Maybe i'm biased, and here's why: back when HMNS was flavor of the week, Dick Patrick was on a live online chat, and when asked what he thought of the state of music today, he said something to the effect of that he couldn't stand bands these days that didn't do anything original with drums or synthesizers, listing among others as gravity kills, stabbing westward and nine inch nails. I do believe i logged off in disgust, considering if it weren't for NIN, the biggest claim to fame he would have is an E! hollywood sidenote that he's the little brother of Robert Patrick, a.k.a. T-1000 and currently in the role of "Male Agent" on the continually reanimated corpse that is X-Files.
Say what you want about Nine Inch Nails, i've noticed it's cool not to like them these days, (despite the fact EVERYONE and i mean EVERYONE owns at least one cd by them), but for an ex-guitarist of said band to express his resentment towards trent reznor for kicking him out by deeming NIN, the band he owes EVERYTHING to, "unoriginal" is akin to Eminem saying that Dr. Dre was never really all that influential. Further, the fact that Patrick mentions Reznor in one way or another in every interview, let me say this again: EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. INTERVIEW he's been in since filter started shows he has some serious problems with insecurity.
But! To answer your original question "filter : who likes em? " breifly, i'll simply say, "Not I." Help Us Make A Difference!
