This'll be my first (1st) thread in the Gmes Forum. I just wanna know, are there any games, roleplaying, collectible card games, boardgames, whatever, that you liked bu that really bombed. I mean games htat kicked ass once you figured out the rules, but that fell flat on their financial faces! I wanna talk, mainly, abotu collectibles games, I'd like to talk abotu why they worked or didn't work. What made them fun? What made them suck? Why was popular/unpopular? Did it bomb or sail? Why?

My favorite CCG that really got slapped by the market is Arcadia: The Wyld Hunt. A game about telling a story based around completing quests and seriously bad rivalry in a land inhabited cheifly by the magical things. The homeland of Fairies, Arcadia, where few to no humans roam. It's bundles of fun. And for $1 for 11 cards, even though it's out of print, it's an awesome game!

The Star Trek: TNG CCG was pretty good...sort of. But I never really got into it enough before they discontinued it. I had good potential, but there wasn't enough interest.

Yeah, why do White Wolf's CCG attempts always fail?

Faselei-Neo Geo pocket Color turn based stratagy RPG similar to Front Mission and the Capcom Vs SNK card game both underplayed because of the system dying so soon.

Ring of Red-PS2 game same sorta thing as Faselei only with more of a action feel to it, overlooked by most people.

Not all white wolf games though..

Zelda: The Board Game.



This was one ritzy game. Too bad Nintendo tried screwing over Milton Bradley. Now the game is lost. It was designed to be like traveling through the six temples, collecting treasures, and defeating temple bosses. It's a world most of us will never know, thankfully I at least got to play it at some old guy's house once. Would've been a great collector's item for any Zelda fan.

The very very rare monkey island card game that Lucas Arts panned after monkey island 2.... i actually loved it i din't play it but i liked the cards and still have a few... i have lemon head, guybrush, leChuck, the three headed monkey and meathook... i did have more but i think i sold some of them.

I've got my Dreamcast and Saturn sitting here on my desk. Love them both.

FFTactics... its one of the greatest RPGs of all time full of great gameplay and story and Square has been promising a sequel for years, but the closest they've come is an enhanced version on the way for the gameboy advance...
